My boss just suggested that I go up there around 2:20 and hang out for my "lunch hour" I've already had lunch but she's being very nice about it, heck I'm even using her car. I hope it's not a wasted effort.

HIt 3 Gamestops this a.m came up just a little short each time. I'm about to hang it up and let the chips fall where they may. Surely my kids will not feel neglected with all the other things. I almost feel at this point that I am on a mission to get one of these. Its actually a little sad that I have become obsessed. I am telling myself that we would be much better if I get in the middle of January after the newness of the other Christmas things wears off. So I have kept my JC Penny order and have offically bowed out of the search. SO that keaves one more for you guys. Good Luck Wii-Ones!

I GOT IT!!!!!

When I pulled in the parking lot the UPS truck had just gotten there. There was a lady who had been there for an hour, she got the 1st one. No one else seemed to be waiting, so I got in line behind her and I got the other one. I talked for a bit to her and she got it for her grandchildren so I'm happy that at least it's not another one going onto ebay. And I'm going to have a very happy son on Christmas morning.

I am so happy and so relieved that I don't have to keep calling and hunting around.

Does anyone know if Best Buys is getting them this Sunday ? Some lady told me that she had "heard" they were putting them on Sale on Sunday. She said they were stockpiling them and that they planned on putting them up on Sunday. Can anyone confirm this ? Why would they hang on to them and WAIT to put them on Sale ?

Wii Still Searching

I really thought ebay prices would back off a little. They have gone even higher! Was averaged around $380 a few days ago is now $500. The number of the auctions is unreal. Where are all these units coming from??? My whole city has received 4 since the initial batch of 5 on the 19th. Nine units to my whole community. There are seemingly that many auctions ending every minute.

I was shopping at the Kohl's next door with DD (6) and was about to leave when I popped into Gamestop to see if by chance there were any Wii's coming. There were 4 people on line saying they were waiting for the Wii shipment at 1pm. At this point I call my DD (18) who's home already from college. I couldn't wait b/c I had to get my 6 year old off to school. So DD (18) gets in the car and drives over to wait in line. I drive back to the Gamestop. The manager has thrown EVERYONE out of the store. It's is bloody cold outside. We wait. The manager was grotesque and rude. The crowd was small. About 9 or 10 people TOTAL. All parents !! My daughter was 8th in line. He comes out and says he's only got 6 and he'll take the first 6 people in line and the rest to just go HOME !!!

Well, because he was incredibly rude and not very forthcoming with info we decided to stay, as did the others in line. He would not let us in the store. We were freezing. At which point I said to my dd "Should we go?". I mean, she had been waiting out there over 2 hours ! And he's only got 6.

We get off the line and go to the Starbucks next door . We sit down , have some coffee and get ready to go home. We pass the Gamestop on the way to our cars. The Manager had let everyone back into the store . It turns out that He lied. He really had 8. My DD was 8th in line. She would have had one if we hadn't gotten off the line. She was almost in tears ! She kept saying why would he lie? He knew exactly how many he had gotten in. We would have continued to wait if he would have allowed us to just stand inside the store. BTW, this is a big gamestop store. Not a little one like some of the rest.

I guess he was on just some big power trip because he had something that everyone wanted. We were so infuriated. There aren't even enough words !

The last RUMOUR I've heard/seen/read about Best Buy is next Sunday, the 17th they will have some for sale.

That's HORRIBLE, I'm so sorry that happened to you and your daughter.

I'd call/email the corporate office and tell them about it just so they know.

My target said they were expecting some on the 17th. but he didn't know how many, or if they would actually come.

At best buy, I was told that 18 were on order, but no idea when they would get there.

I tried 6 different stores today..

I sent a not so nice e-mail to Target after my wii problem with them last week. They were pictured in the ad, so I high tailed it over and was in their parking lot before store opening, along with about 10 other people. A worker came out and told us that they did not receive any for the ad. Now why would any retailer in their right mind picture an item they know will be a hot seller, and not be sure they had at least a few for each store???

I then drove like a maniac over to Circuit City, who had them in the ad. Plus their ad stated each store had a minimum of 15 in stock, so we were hopeful. This was 2 hours before they opened. We waited in the freezing cold, only to be disappointed there too. Turns out 15 was all they had, and we were 17 in line. If only we had gone there first, and not tried Target!

I actually got lucky yesterday, and got one from Game Stop! But I think that is a huge part of it, being lucky. I have spent alot of time asking different stores, and not one of them can tell you exactly when they will receive a shipment. Here is hoping that some of my good luck will pass on to you guys!

I hate to say it, but I think there is a LOT of DELIBERATE misinformation being given out by store employees all over. I have searched high and low and called and driven and waited on long lines etc. I do believe it is just being at the right place at the right time with a lot of effort thrown in.
My DH and I have decided today to end our frantic search (for Christmas). My DS is going on 12 now and he will have to understand this is becoming more than we want to put out time and energy wise. I know he will be disappointed. His BD is in Jan. so we can target trying to get a Wii for that. We just felt it was taking too much time away from our family and more importantly the true meaning of Christmas.

I just don't think it's right for Best Buy to hold them until the ad comes out saying they have them on such and such day. Why don't they just put them out and let the people that are there get them whether it's me or not.

But, unfortunately, it wasn't really *one* of his gifts...it was his gift. So he really won't have anything neat on Christmas day, except the Zelda game for wii, not that he'll be able to use it.
