Any welsh speakers here??

i just want to cry i've got my welsh GCSE oral to write out and i don't have a clue, i shouldnt even be doing the subject anyway...can anyone help me?? xxx please xxx

Not me, but DD's Dad is fluent, and a stickler for the correct use of grammar etc! If you pm me what you need help with, I will see him later and ask if he can help

very difficult! and its a compulsary subject in wales, why should you have to take it? they say to keep people speaking it but if your no good it then your not going to speak it!

I know how you feel, I had to learn it for a while too (though thankfully I was allowed to drop it at the end of year 9 because I live in Monmouthshire) and it does seem unfair that they force it onto school pupils. "We've got a language that is having problems, what shall we do? I know, let's force it on school pupils!" As if you don't have enough on your plate as it is! That said, it is a very beautiful language, and you'll probably be grateful you've got it when it's not causing you the stress it is now. Anyway, I'm afraid my Welsh is awful, and I can only remember a few useless and very random phrases (such as "I like skateboarding", "how tall are you?" and, of course, "welcome to Wales"), but I will send a whole pile of sympathy and fairy dust your way .

Good luck with your GSCE.
Back in the Dark Ages when they were called O Levels, I used to live in Wales and although Welsh wasn't compulsory after Year 9, I chose it. I did pass it but moved back to live in England only 2 years later, where I have lived for over 20 years now, so it has never done me much good, although it does raise a few eyebrows when people see it on my CV.
I hardly remember any of it, apart from the verb "if I were to..." . Really useful!

In year 9 you have a choice of doing welsh or RE , you have to take one or the other as a gcse.
my dd decided on welsh, but then changed it to do RE.
