Our youngest will be turning 3 right before we arrive at Disney, making it impossible for us to stay at Pop, which is where we would LOVE to be. Is there any trick to get around this policy? We have stayed there several times with all 5 of us in the room and were more than comfortable. Space won't be an issue. Thanks for any insight you can give!

You can only have 5 if one is a child under 3.

No. And it's against the board rules to discuss ways around Disney policy. Besides it's NOT a comfort issue, it's fire code.

No. It's not about comfort. It has to do with fire codes and sleeping allotment.

You can stay at POP if you get 2 rooms.

That's actually not true. When we stayed at POP 4 years ago our daughter was 5 and they let us do 5 in a room with a rollaway bed.

That's not longer the case.

4 + 1 infant is now the allowed number. The system won't even allow them to book the room with 5.

Not anymore.

For 5 people -- Choices --

1 - two rooms at a Value - any Value
2 - A Value Family Suite
3 - Mod - POR - Some rooms sleep 5

I think this is why the Family Suites were added at the All Stars & at AoA. I do realize that they are more expensive than a regular room, but the number of people has to be set for safety.

Enjoy your family. I hope you can use one of these alternatives. :goodvibes

Your lowest cost option to stay on site will be POR in a room with a trundle bed. Next best option is to stay off site....if budget is a concern.

You may also be able to find a good price at the WDW Dolphin....the rooms allow for 5. It is possible to get a room rate that would cost less than POR. The only thing is that there is no DME or DDP if you stay here but you will be on site.

Check out some of the hotels near downtown. Bus service is available and since they are not "Disney" they also may still allow 5 in a room.

Is there any way to change your dates of travel and travel before the youngest turns 3? This would allow you the flexibility to stay at Pop and it would also save you from having to buy the youngest a park ticket because they are also going to need a park ticket since he/she will be 3. Just a thought....

Some of my family members were money conscious with their last trip and even though they had a cast member discount (cousin), they chose to stay off property with a family of 5.

Nope. We love POP too.

Last visit was last minute (booked I think the day before) using the military discount. We went planning on one of the kids to staying in a family members room. We checked in and were shocked to find out we were given 1 room that was actually 2 rooms. 1 room had a king bed and the adjoining room was a standard 2 full room but didn't have its own room# so we ended up being able to stay together.
If we ever find the pic with the room # we plan to request it on our upcoming trip. Figure it can't hurt to ask so we don't have to split the family up ;)

YES..just do it...no one will know. Its done everyday. We have done it.
My wife and i in one double...2 kids in other and we took her brothers 3 y.o. last trip....he stayed on air mattress.
So absolutely 110% yes it can be done...Disney will say no. But, its done all the time. Just check in with 4 the 3 y.o. doesn't get ticket anyways.....remember....he didnt turn 3 yet!!!;)

Really? Lol. I dont understand peoples issues with being honest and paying for what you should. If you cant afford it, dont go.

Lets not get the thread locked with discussions of going around Disney rules. Abusing Disney policies will just cause more rules and regulations for guests.

Also, if they were to find out the OP could be asked to leave or pay for suitable accomodations.
