Any walk-ins accepted at Ohana? Is Kona a worthy back-up?

Unfortunately, we decided on our trip too late, and all Ohana reservations were booked up. I will try repeatedly until we leave in one month to get an Ohana reservation. Do they ever take reservations? I'm not holding my breath, especially because we have a party of 8.

I do however have a Kona reservation just in case. Is it a worthy consolation prize?

I would for sure keep trying. I was just able to finally book not one but two nights at Ohana (just canceled one) after trying everyday for about 3 weeks. So it can happen :)

Ha, we had an Ohana ADR at a perfect time & changed it for Kona because we thought we'd like the experience better. We're so excited for Kona!!!

Would you willing to be split up? I think you're unlikely to find a reservation for 8, but you might be able to find reservations for 4, especially if you're willing to eat late (9:00 pm). You probably won't be seated together, but it might be a way to eat at 'Ohana.

Regardless of which place you opt to go, I would be sure to get an ADR because you're a party of 8.

I would just keep checking. I'm about to cancel Ohana for a party of 5. We decided it wasn't going work with the plans for that day. Other people may be doing the same so you never know! We just got a reservation at another restaurant that we wanted which hadn't been available until just earlier today. I did a random check this afternoon and there it was! Things always change. Good luck!!!

We have an ADR at Kona but really want Ohana. We have little ones in our party, so unfortunately a later dinner is out of the question. We were hoping for one around 5pm, but now I know how unlikely that is.

I can't get a reservation at ohana either :(
Anyone ever dine at kona? Details?
Thanks!

I actually prefer Kona to 'Ohana. I always feel so rushed and way too full at 'Ohana. Plus, I think the food quality has gone down hill. On my last meal at 'Ohana, we received our appetizers AND meat at the same time and were out of the restaurant in 40 minutes. I could just tell they were itching to fill our table with new people as quickly as possible. Kona has wonderful food and one of my favourite desserts on property - banana creme brulee! The ambiance isn't beautiful, but the food definitely makes up for it! :thumbsup2
