DH and I are planning a 20 year anninversary VR (May 2008), and I have been looking at some traditional wedding attire. Anybody else leaning that way? Looking for pros and cons and opinions from all.

Thanks in advance. :earsboy: :bride:

I just did a VR in May for my 10 year. I totally understand your question. I didn't know what to wear. I knew I didn't want to wear my original wedding dress and I couldn't find a nice dress I liked off the rack. Then I found out I could get pictures in front of the castle and the next thing you know I am buying a wedding dress - that said it was a very simple wedding dress - no train, no lace, no beed, no appliques (sp?) just a white dress. I also did not go with a veil - but at the last minute chose to do a tiara, which turned out very nice. We had our service at the WP which adds to the formality, if you are on the beach you may choose something else. Pick whatever you feel you like the best - it's your day!

I already had a big wedding almost 5 years ago but I do plan on doing it all over again for our vow renewal. DH keeps changing his mind as to what he wants to do. Now he wants to do a Disney VR add-on. LOL.

We, initially, had a small, private, informal wedding- our guests list consisted of approx. 5 people. We have decided it's time for the "big" wedding (only 22 people, though). I have no photos of our original wedding because we didn't take any. So, I am, definitely, going for the wedding dress, bridesmaids, flowegirl, et. for our 5th Anniversary VR, in 2007.

In my opinion, it's your day and a vow renewal is just proclaiming that you would marry each other over and over again, why not wear the wedding dress for your additional weddings? ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Have Fun Planning.

Just thought I'd bump this again.

Thanks for all the replies.

We are doing an intamate vow renewal for our 25th anniversary in September. We thought it would be eaiser to go casual. Then we wouldn't have to worry about getting anything ironed. Therefore we ordered T-shirts from Disneydirect. The ones with Mickey and Minnie dressed for a wedding. We will be wearing these with jeans.

My husband and I are planning a vow renewal in 12-07 and would like a fairly formal affair. I have been wondering the same thing. I will be 52 by then and I don't want to look silly. At the same time, I want my husband to think I look stunning. I'm glad I'm not the only one asking this question.

Debbie,

I say go for it!! I was 51 last year when we renewed our vows and my original thought was to go with a simple tea length dress. But then I thought, "This is Disney World, I can do whatever I want" and ended up with a gown, tiara and veil. Here's a pic from our renewal.

Good luck whatever you decide!

I am doing the whole thing. I got married by JP and we had no one next to us no family no friends nothing. So I will have it all :)

Me too :goodvibes We want to have a VR in three years for our tenth! We eloped the first time. Funny story because our minister and his wife came with us and we had our "wedding" at Disney with a couple of birds in attendance at CBR. This time, we want to do a custom and let everyone who wants to, come to WDW and celebrate with us :grouphug:

With that in mind, I will shop for at least a wedding dress and maybe a tiara also, like 952LisaR did princess:

We are planning on doing a VR for our 10th (4 years). We had wanted to get married at WDW and were all set, met with everyone down there...then I realized how many members of my family would not be able to make it (and friends, too) So we decided to have a disney themed wedding at home and do a VR at some point. Decided on our 10th anniversary..we should be done with kids by then and they would be big enough. We have a almost 4 year old now and will hopefully be preg in the next month or so (it's been a long 2 years of trying & treatments!!).
Anyways, I am planning on wearing a white wedding dress (probably ecru) but it will be much simpler then my original. I, also, don't plan on wearing a veil..at this point I want to wear a tiara. I probably would have worn a tiara before...but I didn't even think of it!!
