Any Verizon users have the LG VX8100?

I am due for an equipment upgrade soon and am looking at this phone.

DH and I both got them when we renewed our contract this summer. It is a great phone. Long battery life, good sound and volume, gets reception even in BFE. I love the speakerphone feature!!!! Never had a picture camera before, pics are fair, but I am comparing them to my digital camera pictures.

how much does it cost? i didn't upgrade... i just accidentally dropped my cell in the sink... and didn't buy the insurance.. so i had to buy a new one.. my new one is Verizon LG VX5200.. for $269. I have within 14 days to exchange them if I didn't like it. so far so good.. but just curious how much does 8100 cost?

They are giving me $100 loyalty towards a new phone. The regular price online price is 199.99

I have saved 2 phone which were submersed. One fell into a pool and the other one went through an entire wash cycle. (my kids phones not mine) I did a google search and then took apart the phone rinsed it and dried it carefully. one phone I put in the oven at a low tempmaybe 140 for12 hours. The other I used a hair dryer. I remember that you are not supposed to turn it back on until it is fully recharged. They were both as good as new. Nancy

Have you had the same up and down volume problems that others have reported?

I use the speakerphone all the time and have had no issues with the volume. It has been great. My DH uses the headphones alot and doesn't have this issue either. Not sure if it is a issue or not with this phone in general, but it is no problem with our 8100's. Hope this helps!!!!

I'm po'd w/Verizon as I wanted to buy the Treo 650 & I have to wait until my contract expires to get it w/the rebate so it will only then cost $200 or so. If I get it now it will cost me $519!!! Are they out of their minds? I'm curious to know if their rates are going to also go up if it's time to re-up. I've got all of my family on this. On top of that, many of the younger generation around work are on Cingular & they're all looking around for another carrier. I noticed on a walk around work yesterday that there were 3 Cingular places within a few blocks of UCLA. Not a single Verizon carrier. One Mobile T or one...whatever it's called.

I could be wrong but I thought that most companies charge a "full price" for phones unless you get them at contract renewal time. I could be wrong ???? Actually, our shared phones, 3 on our plan, came down in price at renewal time. Not sure if they are planning rate increases, haven't heard anything yet.

I also have that phone since June with no problems. I had Verizon first camera phone (VX6000)and love them.
