Any Vancouverites heading to Disneyland??

Hi :wave2:

There are many of us on these boards.

I'm about 3hrs from Van, but we are going to the World this time, not the land :(

I figured I've been to DisneyLand 4 times now, its time to go to the World, oh and a Cruise too, lol.

When ya going though?

Why would I go back to Disneyland when I could go to Disney World for less?

Now that I have found out about Free Dining, I will stick with Disney World!

Disneyland is special as it's the original and because Walt walked there:cloud9:, but after a lifetime of going to Disneyland we now prefer Disneyworld. Love the short flight to Disneyland though:thumbsup2
Now that my son is older we like the table service dining options at Disneyworld, Epcot etc. We like the total immersion staying on property for half of what it would cost at Disneyland and free food to boot!:cool1: (When I'm in Disneyland, I can see the outside world and I don't like that!) WL is comparable to GCH and much, much cheaper. The flight is a killer though, and that's one of the reasons we make it a longer trip and relax and enjoy the resorts more. Wish it was closer.
Disneyland is great for a quick Disney fix though. Maybe next year:yay:

We went to Disneyland in 1989 and then to the World in 1994. And we have been to the World ever since - 1998, 2000, 2006 and a week ago!! I just love the total immersion and the water parks. We also visit SeaWorld on each visit and it is so much closer. :lovestruc

I'm not from BC but your neighbour Alberta. We love going to Disneyland. We are headed there the end of June for 4 days(10 total in California). We do want to go to Disneyworld. Hopefully next summer or spring before my oldest turns 10 and has to pay adult price lol.

From your signature, it looks like you have a very busy Disney summer planned:)

Yes. Long story how that all came up haha. A combination of returning to WDW using a bounceback free dining with my friend, to my parents wanting to celebrate their big anniversary in Disneyland to filling in a 3-day gap between DL & WDW. I've been very poor for the last 3 months but it'll all pay off when the time comes. It'll be my biggest trip to date (and probably for a very very long time thereafter).

I'm trying to plan a road trip from Vancouver to Southern California and DL now. It's been 5 years and two kids since we've been there, although we've been to WDW a few times and bought DVC in the meantime.

You might want to think about flying...I am going down with my family of 5 via seattle via jet blue for 789 american (I think that is the amount)...ended up being about 940 american ...

This is in october so your milage may vary.

I'm a victoria going to disneyland....

I always thought that WDW was more expensive than DL. Am I just out of touch with the prices? I have not been to DL for 20 years, though.:confused3

Deanie, I was referring to the resort hotels which are so much cheaper at WDW for what you get. GCH is twice the price of WL at WDW and very similar I think. Park tickets are definitely more expensive at WDW though. WDW also has more offers and promotions to offset that though. Disneyland is definitely cheaper if you stay off property, and eat off property. Disneyland is also wonderfully compact so that you don't need to go as long. WDW always ends up more expensive for us though because we go for longer to offset losing a day travelling on each end.

Our family drove down to DL in early Feb this year for 15 days total down stateside. The I-5 is the fastest route down. It took us 3 days to drive it, and the kids were fine with the drive. If you have BCAA, get the maps and the hotel books. By using hotels that gave BCAA discounts it saved us a good chunk of money. If you have the time, it's worth driving the coast and visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. But the roads are very windy, so that you are aware of it. Have a great day!

Trish

Thanks for all the info Aristocat! Yes, you definately need more time to do WDW which ups the price. However, we love the variety of things to do plus we really have fun at the waterparks. We just came back from a wonderful 9 day trip to WDW. Ironically, the cost of airfare at the time was cheaper to go to Orlando than to Anaheim!!:thumbsup2

I'm on the Island ;) Been to DL a number of times now and after our first trip last year to DW we've converted lol.

Hi BC Butterfly.... do you raise butterflies? I bought some for my classroom this Spring for the 1'st time..... painted ladies I beleive... I'd love to learn more about them.
