Has anyone heard anything more about the WL refurbishment that was going to take place next year? What will they be doing? And, how will it effect guests?

:confused3

I heard it was cancelled. :confused3 I think the WL would benefit from an overhaul - new room decor, new furnishings, maybe enlarging Roaring Fork. Not that it's looking shabby, but it would be nice to give the resort a lift, if you know what I mean.

Where did you hear that? I've been reading the Resorts Board quite frequently here, and haven't read anything about it being cancelled.

I swear I remember reading a post about a month ago that someone had just been to WL and was asking about the refurb. They said that the CM they spoke said that it had originally been planned for sometime next year, but that some of the "big wigs" came in and nixed it. I wish I had a link, but I don't.

Maybe I was hallucinating though? I am FAR from an expert on the operations going on at WDW, but that's what I remember reading. Hopefully, I'm incorrect and they WILL be going ahead with it.

Sorry for the confusion. :confused3

Well, Intercot is not currently reporting the rehab (but does have resort rehab information up for mid-2006 elsewhere on-property). Neither is Deb's web site. And I don't believe this web site lists hotel rehabs... so maybe it was nixed.

I read they have only updated the Concierge lounge area. Maybe the places for more $$$'s only.
Just my 2 cents :teeth:

I really hope they do update WL rooms soon. They really need it.

Roaring Fork will be closed for rehab from 1/09/06 - 3/31/06

Hmm.... that's unfortunate. Does anyone know if they do anything to make up for the closure of Roaring Forks?

I just called Disney. Roaring Forks will be closed. A letter has been sent to all people staying at the WL explaining the situation. I have yet to receive our letter. We will be there Jan. 21-27. They will be offering Grab and Go items. I know these things need to be done, but we have always gone there for our Refillable Mugs and quick meals.
