Any unusual character sightings?

We saw Rabbit from Pooh for the first time ever in Toon Town in early October.
I am sooo jealous. I want to see Rabbit sooo bad. And Gopher too.

I have seen Daisy at AK, back by the FoLK. So I know she has a Safari outfit.

For the most part, Jiminy Cricket is only out for Earth Day. At least he is at MK.

edjbiologist, are you going to MNSSHP? We found the Little Einsteins - Annie, Leo, Quincy & June; Tarzan & Jane (like someone mentioned, we saw Jane at AK too), Mr. Walrus, Abu - brand new character.

At MK we also found Merlin signing. I had read that he only signs for the 2 people picked for each show, but he had kids line up before the show for pictures & autographs.

We checked for Rabbit 3 different days at UK, never thought to look at Toontown.

KMH1 - what day did you see Little John? We were there last week too & I'm hoping it was a day we weren't there. :flower: I'm already kicking myself that we managed to miss the dwarfs at MNSSHP. Can't really complain though, we found a lot of characters that we needed.

While waiting in line for Captain Hook and Mr. Spee(sp?) last week, we had Peter Pan run us over (literally!) Peter came swooping out of one of those side alleys across from P of C, and my son stepped right into his flight path because he was busy watching the cannons on top of the P of C ride!!!LOL Poor Peter, he dodged and jumped very well!!!LOL We were all laughing when it was over, and my son was totally clueless - "what, what'd I miss!" He never even saw Peter, as he was turning in a circle as Peter swerved behind him - really need the video on at that point!!! :rotfl: We also saw Prince John in the Dreams parade and the whole Robin Hood gang, but there was no autograph appearence. -please forgive my spelling as it's getting late and my eyes are just shot today!!!LOL

We had Merlin pose for pics - but it was not during his show, he absolutely would not stay after his show, and he didn't even sign for the 2 people he used from the audience - it was around the first parade time during the party - he was back in that garden area where Belle does her story time - the one across from Cosmic Rays - he was there for quite a while! Tarzan and Jane were both down by the Jungle Cruise during the trick or treating as well (should have seen all the moms lined up for photos!!!LOL) That loin cloth was really, really tiny!!! :goodvibes

Wow! Little John (tall bear from Robin Hood) is EXTREMELY rare!!! He is hardly ever out!! :teeth:
!
We saw Little John and Robin last time we were at MK, right outside the FireHouse. We missed them though, they got replaced by Friar Tuck and PJ. Just missed Peter Pan outside the exit to Philharmagic too.

I want to see some Black Cauldron characters (at least Gurgi), and how come the Princess from that one (Ioella) is never mentioned (but Belle is. . .she's a diva, not a princess).

Prince John was our little "joke" this last trip (last week Sept/first week Oct) - he was EVERYWHERE we went. I know we saw him at all 4 parks, and more than once at some. We didn't see any of the Robin Hood characters last Dec., but got Robin, Friar Tuck, and of course Prince John this time.

It was Saturday, October 8th, around 5:30 p.m. We always see the other Robin Hood characters (Robin Hood, Prince John, Friar Tuck, Sheriff), but the sight of that big bear made me gasp! I wish they'd bring Maid Marion out of retirement too!

We saw the dwarfs at MNSSHP, but we also saw them around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 1st, right outside the Barber Shop. We were waiting in line for Alyssa's first haircut, and suddenly they were there! They were supposed to return around 10 a.m. but only Dopey showed up. The CM said they had problems "rounding them up." :confused3

Oh, and Merlin signed my autograph book after his show a few years ago. It was obvious he was trying to leave, but he must have felt pity for the pregnant woman who desperately wanted his autograph. :wizard:

That would rock if they had the characters from the Black Cauldron around. Gurgi was my Stitch when i was a kid! BTW, her name is Princess Eilonwy.

::MickeyMo I saw Little John 3 times when we went in May, LoL. I always felt bad because no one was in line to see him. Everytime he was in front of Guest Services by the Firehouse. Friar Tuck and Robin Hood were also there as well. Isn't is strange how sometimes you see a hard to find character all the time and the ones you're looking for you can't? ::MinnieMo

We saw Daisy in MGM outside of the "trailers" on the street near where you can meet Sorceror Mickey (I'm sorry--I'm blanking on what it's called). At AK, we also saw De-vine--the lady who looks like a walking vine. That was one of the coolest character sightings I've ever had--we saw the character "handler", but then it took DH and I a few minutes to actually see her. Another guy went up and was touching the "vine". The handler said, "No touching, please." The poor guy walked off, very confused, because he couldn't figure out why you couldn't touch the leaves and vines at AK! :rotfl:

I'm jealous of those of you who saw Rabbit! I have been looking for Rabbit on all of our trips. . .with no luck! Oh well, maybe next time! :goodvibes

Hi guys, thanks for all the good info! All 7 dwarfs would be the biggest coup ever! I just got my boys into Robin Hood so I am glad we are seeing him too. Tarzan has been pretty rare the last few years so I am looking forward to him too!

I am not going to MNSSHP, any chance at any of the other parks or prior to 7pm I will be able to catch any characters in costumes?

Thanks
Erika

Thanks KMH1 for the info. :flower:

We were just getting home about that time. :)

That's neat about the dwarfs being out. I had read reports of them at MK at the start of HCOE, and at Epcot for the Flower show. Maybe we'll get lucky & find them on our next trip 12/06.

edjbiologist - I don't remember ever reading about the characters in costume other than at the party, but I may be wrong.

Oh my god! We looked everywhere for Rabbit in September, no dice! We even asked a CM at Crystal Palace and she said that she had never seen Rabbit!

Hmmm...

We saw rabbit in ToonTown this past August. He was way in the back by the train station. There were a few lesser known characters there that day... Max, Rabbit, Country Bears, Rafiki, and one of those penguins from Mary Poppins.

Because they were kind of hidden behind a building there were very few people there as well. We would have never even looked back there, but a cast member told us about it. The kids were tickled pink. I thought it was cool, too.

Hello--
Is there anyone with past experience at MVMCP who can comment on finding characters during the party? Is it like MNSSHP, where Toon Town is the prime place for characters? Thanks!

bleeps - We went to MVMCP last year & MNSSHP this year (the only trips we've made). IMO Toontown wasn't the "prime place" for either party - the characters were spread out through MK. At MVMCP we found Brer Bear & Brer Rabbit at the Liberty Belle area, Donald had a "tree farm" over at the stroller parking area by IASW, Alice, White Rabbit, & the Tweedles were by the tea cups, Cinderella & Prince Charming and Aurora & Prince Philip were behind the castle (I read that Snow White & her Prince also appeared there). I know we found more than that but without getting out the book I can't remember who, but we also weren't concentrating on finding characters that night - we wanted to see the shows, parade, etc.

Have you checked out the website in HugsForEeyore's signature? It's great because she lists where she's found each character on her trips, and it's been a wonderful help to us on knowing where to look for the characters. :flower:

Angel's momma -- thank you SO much for the tips! It's true, we'll have lots of other agendas for MVMCP, but it would be lovely to spot even half of the great characters you mentioned seeing last year; lots of special ones in there (Brer Rabbit -- how great!)! Thanks also for the Web site tip -- I'll definitely check that out.

We were in EPCOT last Friday morning for park opening - Esmerelda (from Hunchback of Notre Dame) was on the character bus. I don't know how often she's there, but it was the first time we had seen her.

Most of the more unique ones we saw were at AK- Prince John out front (I guess I thought he was rarer than he actually is! :0)), Rafiki & Timon in the parks and our favorites were Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum at Toontown Fair. One of them stuck his finger in DH's ear for the picture- it even made him laugh...

:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: princess: princess:

At MVMCP last year we met Snow White with her Prince and Dopey - I couldn't resist getting autographs and a photo with them even though DD3 was sound asleep in her stroller! They named her "Sleeping Beauty", Dopey took over pushing the stroller and she got a huge lipstick kiss and didn't know anything about it until she saw the photos! :rotfl:

Koda and Kenai were on the Bus in Epcot and many people told us that they are quite hard to find.

We say Donald atleast 20 times but Daisy only once in 3 weeks on our last vacation - she was at the trailers in MGM along with Donald. He was miffed when DD3 ran right past him and straight to Daisy but soon forgave her when he realised that he had signed her book twice already! :rotfl2:

Although Bullseye was advertised at the Toy Story locations in MK and MGM, we never saw him out - DD was desparate to see him!
