My son (16) and I are traveling for the first time to Universal Orlando. We are staying at the Cabanna Bay hotel from April 10-14. We have a express passes for only one day.

I was hoping I could get people's best tips for first timers at the parks.

Thanks

Get to the park early is probably the best tip to getting a lot done

Take a look at the map and see where the layout is to rides you want to ride, that way you avoid backtracking.

Use the early entry perk every day. There are only a small number of rides open during early entry. Since you will be there multiple days you will be able to see everything. Forbidden Journey and Gringott's don't have EP access. Since it's Spring break that week it will be busy. Rides like Minions and RRR always seem to have long lines. Simpsons can sometimes take a long time even with EPs. MIB is usually a relatively short line most of the day. Some rides are down frequently: Kong, Transformers, Gringott's. Hopefully you will go the entire vacation with nothing being down but just to keep in mind. I'm not sure which day you have the EP or what rides you want to go on. On the day of your EP focus on the rides instead of shows since the shows are fairly easy to get into even when it's busy. My husband does not like to backtrack in the park but if I go by myself I will go to the front and back of the park based on ride times. The parks are not that big you will spend much more time standing in line than you will walking from place to place.

This is the type of information I was hoping for. Thank you!!!

This is a popular spring break week. Use the early hour. Use single rider. Don't use express pass for your first day if you can help it. Then you'll know which rides to use it on. I've been surprised by how long transformers get these days when it's busy. (I'm local so we go often). Get the virtual queue for Fallon as soon as you can.

Thanks for these tips!
