We are leaving in 39 days! So, I am starting to want to at least get organized for packing! We will be splitting our stay between Poly 4 nights and VWL 5 nights and I was wondering if anyone has any advise to make packing for a split stay any easier? Should I pack separate bags for each resort? What about toilitries? Should I pack small bottles for each resort? Any help appreciated!!! I am sure I'm not even thinking about everything yet! I guess I need to start a list! :bounce: Any advise on switching resorts welcome also!:bounce:

We end up combining everyone's clean clothes into some bags and dirty clothes into others when changing from one resort to another. We will unload most of our clothes into drawers at the resort and repack; it takes very little time. We don't try to maintain separate bags for each resort when we will be staying as long as your are in each one. (When traveling by car, we often have one bag which will hold a change of clothes for everyone and leave the big bags alone for an overnight stay.) We use the same toiletries for both, just bag them up when changing from one to the other.

We pack two large bags when we split stays. One has everyone's stuff for the first hotel and one for the second. We leave the second in the car so it doesn't take up room in the first hotel. We take a separate smaller bag for all toiletries. Lastly, a fourth bag is for coats, shoes, bathing suits or anything else that we'd need at both hotels.

Are you planning on doing laundry at VWL? If so, pack enough for the stay at the Poly, one extra set of clothes for the day you transfer, then do laundry at VWL. We transfered between an off-site property and OKW this past August. Doing laundry at OKW worked out well, and I didn't have to worry about what was clean vs dirty. I also used the extra large zip-lock bags to pack my clothes. Just pulled out the zip lock bags at the first resort, opened them to "fluff" the clothes a bit, and sealed them back up for the trip to OKW. Worked like a charm!

Like llp479, we usually do laundry when on a trip as long as yours which eliminates the need for separate bags. We would end up over-packing if we planned on a separate bag for each hotel. We don't always wear the same amount of clothes each day, so we can't plan on the exact number of clothes needed for each location. We might change into clean clothes if we get our clothes wet or soiled earlier in the day.
I also used the extra large zip-lock bags to pack my clothes.
These are a must for us as well; zip-lock or plastic bags will also keep dirty and clean clothes from coming in contact while in the same bag.:)

My two cents worth....plan on doing laundry. We stay for a little over two weeks and split the stay between a condo and a resort. It's easier to do the laundry than pack for 16 days.....besides how many people have sixteen sets of underwear?? As far as toiletries are concerned, besides personal ones, don't bother with soap, shampoo and cream. The resorts offer them and will refill as often as you need. The moderate resorts don't have irons and a ironing boards in room, but will supply them, free of charge, should you ask for them. Same goes for a coffee maker.....we love to walk for coffee in the morning but are often up before it's made at the resort so it's nice to have one in the room. Have a great time!!
