We went the first week of October last year. The weather was nice and the kids swam in the pool every evening. *However*, we were just on the heels of Hurricane Frances! Or was it Jeanne? Jeanne, I think. . .anyway October *is* on the tail-end of hurricane season, which can be pretty active. But I wouldn't let that discourage you.. we didn't and had a blast!

:flower: We go almost every year in October. We have never had any weather mishaps. I can actually remember it raining only once and that was 10 years ago. We are heading down this year on Oct 4. The crowd level is good and it is warm, but not too warm. So we say GO FOR IT and have a great time!!! :cheer2:

We went in early Oct 2003...Great weather. drizzled one morning but cleared up by lunch if I recall. Swam most evenings. Shorts every day. Had jackets but don't recall using them. :wave2:

Oct was nice the waether was hot still and the crowds not bad.

We love October - second week was great in 2003 and third week was a little more crowded in 2004. It seems like the humidity is still hanging around the earlier in October you go. I think we got a downpour both trips but they didn't last for long. We got a downpour in May too so that's not saying much. It's like a fast tropical rain and, if anything, it chases the wimps (and I mean that in the nicest way) away.

We went Oct. 8 through Oct 16 2004 -- the crowds were definitely worse on and around the Columbus Day holiday (10/11 last year) so if you can avoid Columbus Day, you'll be better off.

Im from St Albans.....

We were there last year. The beginning of October, we found to be very humid, which, being from the west, we were not at all used to, which was hard. Plus it was warm. We returned for MNSSHP middle of October and noticed a difference in humidity.

As for crowds. We had a strange experience, as alot of people bounced their trips to our week when they had to cancel to do the hurricanes in Sept. I thought it was busy, but not out of control. We had daily PS's and a plan, and we did fine!

We going oct 3-9 this year and also staying at ASMo. We have gone in October 3 times and have always had great weather, and the crowds are usually very low!!!which is always a plus.
I think its a great time to go

Just wondering....around what time does Disney usually start having the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Was it only on Halloween? *Beat head on desk* I can't remember!!

According to Birnbaum's WDW guide the average rainfall for October is 2.4 inches.. , September is listed at 6.0 inches. I'll be there the first week of October as well, and I'm hoping it's a dry week. I've promised myself that I will always take the warning of WDW weather seriously after saying that 7.3 average inches for June was "no big deal"... the only thing I saw that trip was storm clouds!! lol We look like ducks in all of our pictures sice we wore our Yellow ponchos the whole week.

Was there last year last 2 weeks of October - so hot! only seemed to rain at night and our ponchos went unused!
