Any tips for getting through the TDR site queue faster at booking time?

I've been trying to practice booking a TDR hotel (any room at Mira Costa would be great but I'd settle for DL Hotel) for our dates. I think the virtual queue must be new because most of the resources about booking hotels don't mention it. I can't book something right at 10 pm ET if I have to wait 45 min just to get into the site! Does having multiple devices help?

We found multiple devices for the virtual queue part did help - you can go with the first to get you into the site. If possible, have a second person working a second reservation thread, too. Also, make absolutely certain that once you are in the site, the first thing you do is log in. It won't ask you to do so, and if you go through the process of booking and setting up what you want, and you're not logged in - well, it basically kicked us out and we had to start over. Look to enter the site perhaps 10-20 minutes before 10:00. We had mixed results with that - getting kicked back into the VQ many times, allowed to move forward several times. Best of luck to you. Rooms at the MC seem to be going pretty quickly right now, so I hope this all works out for you!

Thanks! And yeah, in practicing I noticed that logging in first was key or it would freeze before completing the purchase.

Treat it like a D23 event. Have as many browsers/devices as you can to have a better chance of getting in sooner. Those skills will come in handy yet🤣 Book what you can and keep looking later. I couldn’t get MC for the before and after nights for my package. After persistence, I finally got MC and a room type that matched my VP for one night. It was harbor view, why h us supposed to be the hardest to get. People cancel all the time, especially with hotels. Also, go back in 20-30 minutes after and see if anything released. Their site keeps stuff in the shopping cart for a while. Good luck!

Last night I was able to see the MC availability and got all the way to the final check-out screen before stopping (it's not yet my night). We have a 2-day vacation package at the end of the stay so I'm trying to match the hotel-only nights to the same room: MC Tuscany side, Capitano Mickey Twin.

Not sure the difference between twin and double rooms but I know I gotta match the one I have booked with the package!

The wording on the TDR site is a bit confusing to us, too. But a 'twin' bed room appears to mean 2 separate beds. A 'double' room appears to be a larger single bed for 2. Just an interesting translation from the Japanese description to English, I think! Good luck with your extra night(s)! Hope you can grab it.

I think it’s the UK usage: twin room = 2 beds, double room = room with one bed that sleeps 2 (and can be anything from a US double bed to a US king bed).

Thanks! I saw some videos and it seems that the beds in the twin rooms should still be fine for DH and I to sleep in the same bed. Looks like full-size beds in the US, which will be fine since we are not big people. I would have preferred the one larger bed, but oh well.

We're doing 4 days at the parks with the last 2 as part of the VP so will need to stick to the twin room in order to not have to switch rooms. First night will be DLH then 4 nights at Mira costa. This way we still get to try the DLH but also maximize early entry

If it’s Miracosta and a room with 2 twin beds, those beds are kind of small. The “twin” beds are actually larger than a US twin but smaller than a US double/regular/full. The bed dimensions are listed on the site under hotel info.

Like so many others, I have been "practicing" maneuvering through the TDR website, in anticipation of booking a hotel and/or vacation package for Spring 2025. I have gotten through everything --- except being able to log in ! I have used my Disney family e-mail and password, the same as I use for mydisneyexperience and DVC. It takes the e-mail and password, asks me where I want the one-time code sent, it sends it to my phone, I enter it, hit continue ............................... and it puts me right back to the "How do you want to receive the one-time code" screen ---- Have tried on my iPhone, and laptop with two different browsers. Have tried on different days -- same result. UGH... at least I have some time to figure this out.

Having been to WDW over 100 times, I feel like such a rookie.....:rotfl2:

Anyone else encountered this problem???

Have you logged into any Disney site other than TDR recently? They made a change a few months ago to use a unified Disney login. I had to login into something else first. I think I logged into Disney+.

Pretty sure I have logged into DVC recently, but worth another shot!

Thanks,

Tried logging into DVC and MyDisneyExperience, and then Toyko Disneyland reservation site --- same result... cant get into TDR.

So, I established another myDisney account through the TDR login page using a different e-mail address -- and that appeared to work. I could log in to the TDR site.

I'll keep trying to figure out why the original one didn't work, I'd rather not have another id and pw to remember......

I can hardly wait until I try to use a credit card on the TDR site and it doesn't take it ...............................................

I also read on the Tokyo Disney web site that your password needed to be at least 8 characters and numbers. Mine wasn't so I had to change it.

"Password

Your password must be a combination of 8-25 letters and numbers.
  • - If you are using a password made up of less than 8 letters and numbers or one that consists of only numbers, please reset it.
  • - You may use standard letters and numbers, as well as the following symbols: at sign (@), period (.), underscore (_), hyphen (-)"
