Gonna be heading there this weekend. Any tips for checking the place out with a 5 year old? I havent been there in 13 years so no clue what they have now.

We were just there this past Thursday. I had not been since 1985, so I was amazed at how big the park has gotten. My family loved this park. I have two DD's 13 and 8. My 8 year old is not a rider. They have an awesome skyride that your 5 year old would love, and they also have two kids' areas with rides. One is Sesame Street themed, and my daughters both wanted to stay there.

I can't say enough about the animal interactions. The park is really focused on education, and we were so impressed with the animals. The tiger exhibit is incredible, and they do a great job of having employees answering questions at all of the exhibits.

The park was not crowded, and we easily could have spent another day there. We just loved the whole atmosphere and the ride/animal combo!

Hope this helps!

Thanks, that helps to know! I was worried about my little one having enough to do :O)

My kids are 2 and just turned 5 and BG is one of our favorite parks. Jungula is FANTASTIC!!! My oldest loves to climb and run and I can follow him around from the deck (not having to do the ropes). There are so many little places to check out and the water play area is fun too.

Seseame place is really fun too. There will be plenty for both boys to do and some things they can do together. On our last trip we started on the side of the park where the cheeta's are and worked our way around to seseame place. Usually we do it the other way around. But we never spend as much time on the "second" part of the park so it was nice to change it up a little.

I am thrilled to hear this. In May 2012, we are staying at HGVC Sea Wold and will have the Sesame Place Super Grover plass so we were planning on doing SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens. It has been 30 years since I have been to Busch Gardens and I don't know anyone that has gone so I had no idea what it was like. Sounds like between those parks we should have enough to keep us busy. My children are 9 and 4 by the way. Thanks!

It was great. Most of the rides were walk on so we didnt even have to try a childswap. He even rode the Scorpion which goes upside down....totally shocked me!!

He had a great time. He's not into Sesame street but he still really likes that area. And the area by the Scorpion jas lots of kid rides. He wouldnt play in Jungala but he's like that about netted playgrounds. He LOVED the tigers though!

The have definately improved the place for kids.
