On our last cruise we were told that the $5 per head service charge was for the wait staff, because they don't get any of the tip that is given to the regular wait staff that serves us the rest of the trip.
As we were getting up to leave our waitress discreetly said to us that, without prompting, that they don't get any of the $5 per head svc charge, and that it is customery to leave an additional gratuity. Of course we left a nice tip for her, but I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this tipping situation at Paolo and what the real story is on the service charge.
