Any Thoughts on Galleria Palms Orlando?

Oh I'm crying.

I took a chance today and tried Priceline. My first time ever.

Never. again.:guilty:

I got Clarion Maingate.

They don't even have free breakfast.

My choice was between Galleria, Inn @ Oak Plantation, and a chance at Priceline and just as I was about to STOP the transaction, my bid was accepted and I was so very dismally informed of my accommodations. :sad2:

Next time, I'm choosing Galleria. Even if I can afford onsite, just to teach myself a lesson. :sad1:

Bummer!

If I can be so nosey, what was your bid? :flower3:

Hey Julez!

I recognize you from the "Oak Plantation" thread. Don't feel bad:

1. You are going to Disney :yay:

2. It could have been a lot worse, you could have gone to Oak Plantation. ;) Honestly, Oak Plantation is absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed at. The place was terrible, the location was terrible, etc. I have not been to Clarion Maingate but I think it is a good location. Much closer than Oak Plantation. I am sure you will have a great time.

Galleria Palms is a very nice alternative when staying off-site. Just think, now you get to plan another trip so you can try it. :wizard:

I know! I know! ;)

I'm over it.

Well, almost. :upsidedow

I tried a Priceline bid two years ago when people were getting the All Star resorts -- hoping to get one. Did I? Nooooooo! I got the Nikki Bird and was so disappointed! :headache: I read all kinds of terrible things about it. And then the hotel was sold to another company. I believe they were going to turn it into an extended stay kind of place without any housekeeping services on a daily basis -- or something like that. Anyhow, it ended up enough people complained to Priceline and those of us that did, got our money back. I was so thankful!

Never again will I do Priceline for WDW. But that's just me. I know others have been lucky. Me -- not so much! :lmao:

I did a prepay for the Econolodge near the airport and it was so disgusting that I made hubby leave about 3 hours. We arrived super late after a long drawn out flight on Delta. Not only was the room and hotel disgusting, they charged me for the room (after I had already prepaid) -- which I didn't find out until I checked my bank balance a couple of days later. After contacting the hotel and the booking company and not getting a response, I had to end up contacting my State Attorney General's office who had to become involved and got us our second charge back.

So as you can see, I'm a little leery about staying off of WDW property. ;)

And these great reviews for Galleria have definitely eased my mind as we're traveling with my sister and her two boys, and my daughter, her SO and my 7 month old granddaughter. :yay:

I had booked for November 2008 and I saw a review on TA that mentioned a charge for breakfast so I called the hotel. I was told by the clerk that answered the phone that breakfast is $3.99 per person.

If there is a charge, that is news to me. We were just there end of August and were not charged....
