Hi to all! I am new to the Disboard. I put this post on a another thread. I am hoping someone will have a thought out there that will help me with my quest. Thank you.

I have already received so many great tips and I am thankful for all the help. We are planning a family trip to Disney World for Christmas. We are so excited! I would like to surprise my twelve year old daughter by getting her ears pierced while we are at the park. Does anyone know of a place at the park that pierces ears? And do we need to make an appointment in advance?

Welcome! Sorry I can't help you...maybe you could call Disney Directly and ask?? Are you worried that her ears may hurt though during the vacation? I remember getting mine peirced the first time, and it hurt like crazy..for at least the rest of that day, if not into the next morning, and what if it turns into an infection or something..?? I wouldn't want to spend my vacation with a hurtin' ear..especially since alot of rides will cause ears to pop and not to mention the plane ride hurting those ears. But I don't know anything. I am sure you already thought of this...

Just My opinion...I hope you have a fun trip and a fun Christmas!!

Thank you for the excellent insight. I hadn't thought about the pain. I didn't have much pain beyond the initial shock of the pierce. My daughter does have very sensitive skin. This may turn out to be a big bummer.

perhaps you could get her ears pierced now and buy her a special pair of earrings while at WDW? or, have "tinkerbell" leave a special pair of earrings on her bed one day while you're at the parks?

Maybe instead of getting her ears pierced, you could suprise her with a special hair cut at the barbershop on Main St?

She could get a nice cut, then have her hair colored and pixie dusted! Believe me, she'll garner more attention throughout the day from CMs, Characters, and even customers.

Thank you for the terrific insights and thoughts. I am definitely
thinking of postponing the piercing. The hair idea sounds like a fun alternative. Do you need to schedule an appointment for the cut? Is this something we arrange weeks in advance of our trip?

The haircuts are first serve first come. The barbershop is open 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. It's $17 adults, $14 kids, tips are welcome.

If you don't want to do a haircut, they can just do a color and pixie dust. Just tip them accordingly.

It does get a bit crowded sometimes since there's only 2 barbers working at any point in time. Get there early, or go during the 3pm parade.
