any surprises at AKL?

Just want to say up front that I'm not "expecting" Disney to do anything special, I just know that when it comes to Disney it never hurts to mention special occasions.

We're headed down in December, a mini-trip celebrating my college graduation and we have the AKL booked for Savannah View. I mentioned it to the CM at CRO, we were chatting about trips and I mentioned that this trip was my "party" since I didn't want a big graduation party and he made a little fuss congratulating me. After the call, later that day, I was talking to mom and thought, "hey, wonder if he made a note attached to the reservation?" Again, not expecting him to - I just know that sometimes CMs will make little notes if they know of any special occasions. She said she was thinking about going to the check-in counter when we get there and asking if they have any ideas for something special she could do. She feels bad about me not having a party, even though I'm the one that doesn't want it. Plus I think she's a little bummed that I don't want to actually GO to graduation - I just want my degree, I don't care at all about ceremony.

Neither of us are planning on pushing the subject. My one mention to the CM at CRO will be my only one, and mom wants to mention it at least the once while we're there "just in case." Like I said, we're not expecting anything but are well aware that it never hurts to mention casually.

So has anyone else had a special event "recognized" at AKL? I know I've read about people being upgraded for anniversaries and such, but we already have our Savannah view (didn't want to risk not having it! haha)

and when I made the reservation, CRO asked why we were coming and I mentioned my birthday, see my daughter blah blah blah............Had PS at Boma's and was surprised with a birthday dessert. I had forgotten all about telling anyone as I am not one to do that. It was so sweet that someone made the effort to remember. Just Disney magic..... When you don't ask and it happens, it all the sweeter......

When Concierge sent me my Itinerary questionarre, they had asked if we were celebrating anything.We were visiting during our anniv. and when we arrived there was a heart shaped box on our bed with bottles of cologne for me and my DH with a card of congratulations from the staff. That was nice, for I did not ask for anything. Also, when we checked out, they gave us a bag of Dasani water.
