Hey guys can you help us out. Me and my fianc'e are getting married on 4-4-04. We will be arriving in Orlandao arout 10:15 am on 4-5-04 (Monday) We are staying at the CBR. I have some questions that maybe some of you can help us out with. This is our first time for both of us to the happiest place on Earth, The World. I just wish we knew about these boards before booking our trip. The reason is because we are going the week before Easter. I know I know, one of if not the buisiest time to go. But hey it's the world, we will be married, and it will be fun. Now for the questions.

1) When we booked our trip we got the mears transportation with it. I have read about mears and we don't want to do it simply because of no direct destination to our hotel + our honey moon and we don't want to wait or ride with anyone else. So what would you suggest as an alternative and how soon would you suggest to book them?

2) Since we are arriving on a Monday and from what we have read, Monday being one of the busiest days at MK, what would you suggest as the park to visit for a little more than a half a day?

3) We have PS at Chef Mickey's on Tuesday at 7:00 something in the morning. That is when we were planning to go to the MK. We have PS for Ohanas, I believe on Thursday and the Fantasmic Dinner Package I believe on Friday. We were thinking that we can hit Ak and DMGMS on 2 different days, which means MK and Epcot we would be able to go 2 different days. The thing is we come back on Sat night and have to be at the airport as our flight leaves at 7 something that night. So what do you suggest to do on that Sat, being a weekend, right before Easter?

4) At downtown Disney, at Disney Quest, are all the games free?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We have the ultimate 6 day park hopper plus passes, if that helps. Any good restraunts or counter service restruants at each of the parks you recommend and does anyone know if they have a store that sells a lot of haunted mansion and Nightmare before Christmas stuff?

Thanx guys and we can't wait for your responses

Just bumping this back to page one so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

One thing I can say is you picked a great day. My husband and I got married on 4-4-92. Great Day for us and hopefully for you too.

Congratulations! :D

I either rent a car or take Mears... but try posting a similiar question on the Transportion Board.

2) Since we are arriving on a Monday and from what we have read, Monday being one of the busiest days at MK, what would you suggest as the park to visit for a little more than a half a day?
Epcot... Stay for Illuminations. Its a wonderful show. (I was going to say MGM and Fantasmic... but then I saw you are doing that on Friday. ;) )

You don't plan it now... you leave it open so you can go back and do your favorite park one last time.

4) At downtown Disney, at Disney Quest, are all the games free?
99.2% are free. Even taking the Animation Class is free. What costs are some games that give tickets, and buying a picture of what you drew in the Animation class, or designed on the Toy Design stations.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Try the restaurant board for good eatary suggestions. :D

Have a great trip!!!

Alternate Transportation ..... book a towncar service. It's the best. When you come down to baggage claim they will be there holding a sign with your name on it. You have the car to yourself. It is a direct trip to your hotel unless you ask for the 30 minute grocery store stop. The drivers are usually very very helpful with tips and information about the parks. Some will even have park maps and other brochures for you when they pick you up. Florida Tours an official sponsor on the Transportation Board. Every time that we go to WDW with the exception of 1 time we have taken a town car. Worth the $$$$. Personally, if you are not going to be leaving the Disney property I would not rent a car. We have never taken Mears. Plus, I think a towncar would be much more romantic.

Magic Kingdom on Monday ..... I agree with the PP about doing EPCOT and staying for Illuminations

Last Day We rented water mice at the GF on our last day since we didn't have any park passes left. It was a really fun way to end our stay.

Places to Eat and Disney Quest ..... I'll concur with the PP

Have tons of fun and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Melissa

I third the response of going to EPCOT. Perhaps you could get a reservation for dinner at either France or Mexico, then stroll out and watch Illuminations.

Congratulations on your wedding! Honeymooning in Disney (or should I say Disneymooning) is awesome!! DH and I honeymooned in 1999 the day after July 4th, so I know how busy the parks can be near a holiday.

However what we did on our honeymoon and had a lot of fun, was plan not to plan. Now we made PS for dining and tried to catch certain rides at "semi-off" times. But we would get up in the morning and go to the bus stop and take the first park bus that came. That's the park we'd go to for the 1st part of that day (could not stay all day, too hot in July). We really enjoyed doing that because we knew that we'd have to plan better in the future. Now that we have 2 kids planning is a must!

Now to answer some of your questions.
(1) I have used Tiffany Town car in the past and have been VERY pleased. I'd book them now. You do not have to pay them until your first leg of the trip. I'd rather be safe then sorry.
(2) I vote for EPCOT when you arrive. It's DH & my favorite park.
(3)On your last day why don't you hit your favorite park early in the a.m. and then when it starts to get crowded go resort hopping! It's a great way to relax and check out all of the resorts.
(4) Sorry, I've never been to DQ.

Hope this helps,
Cynde

Use use Prestige Town Car service - $80 roundtrip and its just us...they even include a grocery stop if you need it...we always pick up water.

I would go to MGM the first day....IMHO it's not a full day park!

Whatever you do have fun!

Michelle

Since you don't have any children traveling with you, it will be easier for you to park hop. We did that twice with MGM, MK and AK.
We spent the am in MK and they flew over to AK for the afternoon and for the parade. We also spent the morning at MGM studios and then hopped off the TL for an afternoon when it got hot.
Congrats on you wedding and have fun!

Hey thanx you guys, please keep them coming. So now were stuck. Alot of you said to do Epcot on the first day, may I ask why not Animal Kingdom. I know they show Illimunations and we will see that just as we have a dinner package and will see Fantasmic. But from what I can tell, only 1 person voted for MGM first. I know my fianc'e, I should start saying future wife, :) will enjoy all the parks and I know weather will have a great role on what parks we can do on what days, but I am just trying to come up with something. I really don't want us to have a plan, but at least be on the same page if you get what I am saying. So please the more helping the better.

1st suggestion: FL tours or another town car service would be fine.

2nd Stay away from any park that has early entry unless your there for the park opening.

3rd Park hop for any event or show you missed.

4th Don't know about Disney Quest.

5th Enjoy and relax don't be in a rush.

6th When you check in and go to restaurants mention that your on your honeymoon.

7th Make sure you see Fantasmic at MGM Illuminations at Epcot
Wishes at Magic Kingdom.

Have a magical trip.

I believe no one has said AK on Monday because that is the early entry day for onsite guests. If you aren't arriving until nearly 11am, you don't want to try that park. MGM would be fine and Fantasmic on Monday evening is okay but you said you booked the package for Friday. If your desire at MGM is to ride RnRC and ToT, then arriving close to lunchtime might make that a challenge. Make the use of those UPH's by hopping to the water parks if it's warm enough. Don't forget to throw in an evening at Pleasure Island.

As always, I recommend LeCellier in Epcot for dinner one evening. I love their food. It would also be quite romantic to plan a dinner in the castle during the evening fireworks show.

Have a blast! We also disneymooned back in '86 but there was less things to visit then! It's harder now to squeeze it all in.

Not sure exactly what time your flight leaves in the morning or how much sleep you will be getting, but I would say that if you could help it to keep it easy on your first day, otherwise you will end up exhausted and have a hard time getting rested again. There would be nothing worse than to start off on a bad foot and be cranky the entire time. Maybe not plan on Illuminations, but play it by ear as to how tired you are. If you feel good, then go, but have a backup day planned in case you are too tired or want to take it easy.

I also reccommend taking a towncar instead of Mears. That way you can be picked up and dropped off on your schedule and not have to worry about taking the tour de Orlando on the way to the hotel or airport.

Transportation Question: My wife and I usually rent a car - we can drive to the grocery store to pick up a few things, use it to travel between resorts (which Disney Transportation isn't really set up for too well), and we don't have to worry about when we're being picked up or dropped off at the airport.

Monday: Animal Kingdom - even though my wife and I don't really feel we're at Disney World until we go to EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom. Since AK closes early, head to dinner at Jiko's (located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge).

Tuesday: Magic Kingdom (Chef Mickey's in morning)/head to EPCOT at night, with dinner at the Rose and Crown (you might even get lucky and get outdoor seating); make sure you don't miss Illuminations.

Wednesday: EPCOT (for dinner recommendations check the DIS reviews or www.wdwig.com for reviews and complete menu listings, including the prices)

Thursday: MGM in morning and early afternoon/Magic Kingdom for dinner evening (Ohanas) - I'm not sure when you're PS at Ohanas is taking place, but if it's early enough, you can then go to MK to catch "Wishes."

Friday: AK in morning/MGM in afternoon (dinner package at night)

Saturday: Leave Open for what you missed.

Remember to be flexible with your schedule. It's your honeymoon, so enjoy it.

You don't need a detailed plan... but you make better use of your time if you have a Which Park are we going to now? plan.

As for why Epcot and not Animal Kingdom... that is because AK closes early. By the time you get to the Hotel, Check in, grab lunch and make it to a park, it will be after 1pm. I know that sounds like a long time, but I have never made it sooner and usually I don't make it to the parks until almost 3pm.

So... with AK closing around 6-7p and Epcot staying open until at least 9pm. It makes sense to go to Epcot on that shortened day.
I usually do Epcot first myself... actually on my last trip I made a Beeline for Mission: Space. I really wanted to try it. :D

Sometimes I try and book the Last Lunch Time at Coral Reef. (I think its 3:45p) and we wait to eat until we get there. Coral Reef is a bit Expensive and the Lunch prices are cheaper. Then we eat a late dinner somewhere else.

Don't worry about the Weather, That's what poncho's and raincoats are for. :umbrella:

:bride: I'm sure you will have a great trip! :groom:
