Thinking of a trip to Florida next Christmas and spending the holidays. We are only going for a few days and am thinking of heading to Seaworld and a water park at WDW. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay inbetween these two places? Something that offers complimentry breakfast (quick bite) and has a pool on site. Reading the rest of the board we will try and head down before x-mas and on boxing day get out of there and head to the gulf to the in-laws before the crowds head in. Also is Seaworld worth it? We went to BG last year and it was a disaster and the kids 5,7,10 could hardly go on any of the rides. Thank you all who respond.:wizard:

depends - if you are looking for rides no - SW is not worth it.

but if you want some great shows or your kids like to feed and pet Dolphins, stingray.

feed seals - they are too aggressive for you to pet.

then you might love SW

here the website so you can decide for yourself

There are a couple of Marriott resorts very close to SeaWorld. One that is kind of in between Disney and SW is the Grande Vista. It is a lovely resort with beautiful pools and you can rent either a "studio" room or 1 or 2 bedroom villa. The other resorts that are nearby are Marriott's Cypress Point and Horizons. I would recommend any of them. To check pricing, you can go directly to Marriott. Just be sure to check for "Member only rates" by typing M11 in the promo field. You can always sign up for their program free if the rate is better.

There is also a Renaissance Hotel right next to SeaWorld. If you plan on doing Disney as well, you could look at the Caribe Royale and Buena Vista Suites resorts. They are close to Disney, but a very easy commute to SeaWorld.

I think you will love SeaWorld. My kids are 5, 8 and 10 and don't like a lot of the big rides at any theme park. (We only go to Universal when we are by ourselves because of this.) But they love Disney and they love SeaWorld.

One other thing is that if you have an Amex card and are part of their membership rewards program, you can use points for free SeaWorld tickets. I just ordered 5 yesterday for our upcoming Feb. trip. Since you have almost a year, you could have feasibly have enough points. Just an FYI to maybe help save some money.

Have fun planning. Hope this info helps you a little.

SeaWorld is definitely worth it. Located close to International Drive you will find countless choices for accomodations. Embassy Suites has two hotels close by and they offer complimentary cooked to order breakfast. Offer more room than an ordinary hotel room, and I believe both locations also have indoor and outdoor pools. The weather at Christmas time can be cool which is where an indoor pool can be nice.
