Hi! I'm planning our first family trip to WDW for next August (ASMovies) and read some good things about the Tour Guide Mike service. I went looking for a post on it, but with the search function not working, couldn't find anything.

I would love to get some comments from anyone who has used this service to see if it is worth my time and money.

Thanks in Advance!::MickeyMo

I have it & it has alot of good information in it. It will take awhile to sift through it all, but planning is half the fun. I think it will definately benefit you since it is your first trip.

I'm a veteran of 10+ trips to WDW and signed up for TourguideMike to help plan a Christmas trip for my brother's and my family. I think that Mike has several ideas that will help us get the most out of our trip at this particularly crowded time.

The navigation on the site is sometimes tricky. Spend some time, and you'll get the hang of it. And when you want to print something out definitely use the new link to "printer friendly format".

I bought the guide with a discount from Mousesavers and am glad I spent the money on it.

Oh and WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!

Be sure to check the board for newcomers--most of your questions will be answered there. This is a friendly place!

I think if you are going to buy a guidebook of any kind this online guide is great. It has been an extremely helpful tool for me specifically in getting familiar with the lay of the land. I think at times he beats you over the head with his advice but all in all it was worth the money. He definitely keeps the website updated. I agree with another poster that said the navigating was tricky. It helped to start with the Express Planner and then I worked my way back. Along with this discussion board I feel I am well informed and ready!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi Jcermak

here is a not so old thread on tgm, thought you might like to see it.

I see you are going in two days... you lucky dog. I just noticed that TourGuideMike has done the photo tour of the MNSSHP, it has 41 pictures....just thought I would let you know in case you were going to one of those parties. They are really fun to look at! And it will get you in the mood for your trip.. (like you aren't already... ha!)

I'm going in August as well and purchased TGM a couple of months ago. There's loads of info. Definitely take the time to read through it so that you'll get the hang of it. He offers great touring tips and the AVP is customized with your information...you'll see what I mean. Have fun planning!::yes::

Thanks to all of you who replied! Sounds like it will be worth it to check out TGM! I never thought planning a vacation would be as much fun as this!

We went to WDW on our honeymoon in 1989 and stayed at the newly opened Caribbean Beach resort. Had a blast and can't wait to take the kids!

Thanks again!::MickeyMo

This is the second year I have used TourGuideMIKE and would highly recommend it. Last year there were things that he changed on his site at the last minute that made our annual Christmas trip the best ever. I am using it again this year since we will continue to access it as we are in WDW for the upcoming trip (our 8th Christmas at WDW).

Along with my PassPorter I would say this one is a KEEPER! :wave2:

Thanks for the heads up, Rileygirl -- I've been so busy at work this week that I haven't had time to check out all my websites. How dare they keep me that busy :eek:

I'm going to take a look at the pictures you mentioned. I'm mentally already there so this will fill in the blanks. I'm going to a party on the 14th with my little Spiderman. I haven't decided what I want to be yet but it outta be interesting.

I also signed up for Tour Guide Mike and love the site. The only thing I'm disappointed with, is that he hasn't updated his sample tours. Apparently Fast Pass changed (according to TGM) and it said he would update it in a few days and the date on this was July :( Sooooooooooo, still waiting for that update....other than that, its a great site.::yes::
