We are taking our 4 dd to see the mouse for the first time in Feb. They don't know it yet, and we're planning to give them the trip as part of their Christmas. Just wondering . . . anyone else ever done this, and how did you go about it (gift wise, surprise wise, etc.) I want to be creative and make this something they will always remember!

Do you already have the park passes? What about putting one in each of their stockings?

Or doing a scavenger hunt type present, with a first clue in their stocking that leads somewhere else in the house where you have say, four Disney magnets and another clue that leads to somewhere else in the house where there are four beanie-size disney plushes and yet another clue that finally leads to the hidden passes? My parents used to do things like that and I always had a blast figuring it out. You can even make it a team-building exercise (though they won't know that) by having the clue broken up one word on each of four papers, one for each girl, so they have to work together to figure it out...

There was also a post a few weeks ago that a woman did showing her kids pictures when she took them to the airport and told them that they weren't, in fact, going on an errand, but they were going to Disney World. They had no idea until they were at the airport and ready to go. That was a neat story and a great picture, but on the other hand, half the fun of going to Disney for me was the anticipation! :)

I'd also like to hear ideas! I was thinking of wrapping a present for each of my 3 under the tree that included things they would need to take, and include a packing list (we're leaving 2 days later). My DH suggested something like a scavenger hunt (but that's as far as he goes in helping to figure it out! LOL!). I'd like to combine both ideas, or even go with something else. I'd love to hear what others have done!

We surprised DS and DD with a January Disney trip for Christmas when they were 5 & 8. We thought it would be safest to put it in one joint gift so nobody accidentally got to their individual gift first. We used a shoe box and posted a calendar with the itinterary on the lid. Inside we put a pass, some Disney dollars, a Disney watch and a few other things for each of them. We have some great video footage of their faces - absorbed, confused, and finally thrilled as they started doing the Disney dance around the living room.
