Any success with II in Aruba ?

I was curious if anyone has had any success utilizing the II system to Aruba. I placed a search request yesterday with MS and anxiously await an available 1 br unit. My dates are fixed
( November ) but I'm not too particular as to which resort DVC has listed as an exchange if it becomes avavilable.
Am I just dreaming about something becoming available or do I really have a shot ?

We were thinking of Aruba not this December but next. Didn't know if a fixed time was too hard. I was under the impression they checked right away and told you the answer.

They do but it's unlikely they have anything sitting there not taken that you want. You then place a pending request to see if something comes in. Aruba won't be difficult using DVC for a 1 BR November as long as you can live without the Marriott. The trouble will be that most owners in the Caribbean tend to deposit late and therefore you may only get that exchange 2-6 months out. November should be less of a problem in this regard than say early in the year. I'm sure something will come.

I put in a request for Aruba on Wednesday thru II and just got a call today from MS that an exchange was available. I am pleased that it took only 2 days for a match. The system does work outside of DVC. Disney is my first love . However , I had an opportunity to spend a week in Aruba with 6 very close friends.
Dean , I'm staying at LaCabana beach club. Thanks for the help . Special thanks to Disney MS for all the help and expedient match.

What I mean are the Sunday to Sun.-Monday-Mon. etc? If I was trying to bump into at least part of a school vacation week do they have like Weds-weds?

Each resort has a different check in day from what I saw on II web site. Some resorts are Saturday only check in , some Friday and some Sunday. I think La Cabana has Thursday thru Sunday check in days. You could verify with MS before you start a search.

You usually don't want the units that are not Fri, Sat or Sunday. That's especially true at La Cabana.

It's possible but not likely. Most resorts in the Caribbean are lockoff's or smaller units. The Paradise Beach club I think has 2 BR non lockoff's but it is not on the ocean, about a mile away if I recall in a residential neighborhood and not that great of one at that. Casa Del Mar is not 5* but does appear to have small 2 BR units that are not lockoff's. Easter is actually easier than earlier in the year, say president's week.

Ask DVC to be certain but Aruba in May to early December should be the mid season level.
