Any strollers out there big enough for a 7 year old?

hmm...no mention of a sleeping child on the bus...any way FYI WDW strollers:
Single or infant (newborn to 9 months) strollers: $15/day (no deposit) or purchase $13/day length of stay rental.

Double strollers: $31/day (no deposit) or purchase $27/day length of stay rental.
not sure your 7 yr old would fit in a single so you would most likely be paying $31./day not $13./day if that makes a difference...

Talk about the hassle of getting a stroller on the bus, and your quoted part about carrying a 50 lb sleeping child = sleeping child on a bus to me. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Good timing. I was glad to see someone with a good experience with Orlando Stroller Rental. We have never used them before and I just paid for a rental for our upcoming trip today. DS is almost 6. We are renting the Liberty Push Chair by Baby Buggy. It holds up to 100 lbs. We went in December just for one night 2 days and did not get a stroller but we're not sure he'll make the whole trip this time (7 nights 7 days). Plus we'd like to try a couple of shows and we thought it work better if he had a home base. Some good information here.

Thank you.

I took my 5yr old to Babies R Us to test all the strollers. He had outgrown his old Graco Quattro Tour (tray hitting his lap).

After trying out all the options, the winner was the new Graco Quattro Tour. Looks just like his old one, but they have redesigned it to be a bit bigger. I think he'll fit in it for WDW trips for a few more years! We got the floor model and paid $65!

We love the Quattro Tour - the basket underneath is HUGE and easily holds all our stuff. We also love the two built-in cup holders and the parent organizer tray up top.

BTW, DS is 45lbs, 44inches, and there is plenty of room for growth!

Also, I really didn't think we would use this feature, but DS got sick on our last trip and fell asleep during Illuminations. We were able to recline the stroller completely flat (his knees were of course still bent) and allow him to sleep very comfortably while we pushed him back to the Boardwalk Villas. If we had rented a stroller, it would have been much more difficult!!

Hope that helps the OP or someone else!!

two points -

If a 7 yr old child is in the stroller all day he/she should be rested enough to not fall asleep on the way back - heck, I'd have the kid haul the stroller onto the bus, LOL!

If I had to push 50+ pounds around WDW all day, I'd be the one falling asleep on the way back to the resort - and then I'd need to ride in the stroller on the way back to the room.

So, anyone know of a stroller that can hold 110+ lbs? :dance3:

:rotfl2:

I honestly don't think my ds7 would fit comfortably in any stroller. We used a Mac Volo for him at WDW when he was 5.5 and he filled that thing up - and his entire head was over the back. He will be hoofing it around WDW (as well as dd5) like the rest of us.

I have a Graco IPO stroller that is an umbrella stroller that holds up to 50 pounds. Its lightweight (17 pounds), folds up, but fully reclines and has a little basket. For my 3 year old, this is wonderful at the parks and not too much hassle on the buses. It was $80, I think, so less than the cost of renting one. There is also a Combi Flare umbrella stroller that goes up to 55 pounds and is even lighter (11 pounds) to carry, but I read some negative reviews about the wheels not working properly so went with the slightly sturdier but heavier Graco, and I'm pleased so far.

Joggers will carry more weight, but if you're staying on property...well, I've done the jogger on the bus before and it is NO FUN. I would not personally do that again, though I see plenty of people willing to cart one of them around.

To be fair to the OP, I will say that sometimes, you cannot always predict when kids will fall asleep, get sick, or need a break. For me, our schedule is already off at Disney due to the time change and getting up earlier than usual, so I've definitely had my daughter fall fast asleep at an unexpected time before (like an hour after she got up from her nap at the hotel). It happens. Having toted a deadweight sleeping child from the bus to the hotel room, I appreciate the need for a stroller!

We just got back from Disneyland (CA) and we used the rental strollers while there this time. The ones at DL are the Baby Jogger rental quality strollers. Very nice actually and extremely easy to push even with a bigger child in it. DH and I often spoke of "making a run for it" with the stroller to get ds back to our hotel after leaving the park. After having to carry ds back to the hotel several times, which was an 8min walk, we are definitely taking the jogger with us on the next trip down. I don't really care what other people think, to be honest. And yes, we did take afternoon breaks and took things slower, but it's still a ton of walking for his little legs, and we still stayed up later to see the fireworks show, so by the time we were ready to leave the park, he was falling asleep and either fast asleep or just simply not willing to walk. He was getting a little better towards the end of the week because, well, there were times dh and I just couldn't hoof it back with an additional 40+ lbs of weight. We all would have been much happier and stress free if he was riding in the stroller. It is vacation after all. Oh, and pushing my ds in our jogging stroller, even all day long, is tons easier than carrying for half a mile back to the hotel. lol
