Any stroller recommendations?

Hello,
We will be doing our first Disney Cruise at the end of October. Our son will be 13 months old so we will need to bring a stroller with us. Does anyone have any recommendations on a brand of stroller they found perfect for a cruise? Also, can anyone advise the width of the stateroom doors? I am hoping to have a stroller that I don't have to fold up to bring into the room when our son is in the middle of napping in it. Thank you in advance!
Nancy

We cruised with a 14 month old and never used a stroller while on board. A simple umbrella stroller will fit through the doorway, though I don't have the exact dimensions and you can fold and slide under the bed. We did use it in St. Maarten to carry back our duty free and just shleped the kid in our baby carrier!

When we took our DD when she was one, we had an UPPAbaby G luxe umbrella style stroller and it worked wonderfully. Definitely fit through the door without folding.

If you don't use a umbrella stroller depending on room size you may want to park it in the wheelchair and stroller area outside your room at night. This area is usually near the elevators.

The following are from the DCL website:
The doors for standard stateroom is 23 inches wide.

  • Due to safety regulations, wheelchairs, scooters, strollers and other personal belongings may not be stored in public passageways and must be stored inside staterooms or a designated public storage area.

I would also recommend a basic umbrella stroller. The larger ones can be unwieldy with crowds and doorways. We have never actually used them on the ship just in port.

We have watched people with standard sized strollers and they have problems maneuvering them through the hallways, especially when the luggage is out at the beginning and end of the Cruise and when the room attendants have their carts in the hallway.

I'd bring one (even an umbrella stroller) that reclines a bit and has a canopy covering to block out the sun...it's great if your son falls asleep. We've never had any issues storing or using a stroller.

We have a b-agile and uppababy g-luxe at home but got a $25 Minnie-themed cosco stroller for the cruise. Actually, we used kohls cash and so it ended up being "free". I was glad to have the most narrow, thinnest thing possible going down the halls and weaving through the crowds. Plus I didn't have to worry about it being damaged in transit or getting sandy or anything. It took up NO space at all in the stateroom (the g luxe takes up a lot more room folded than this). It had a small canopy. It didn't recline but dd wasn't going to nap in the time she was in the stroller. We also had a baby carrier I used for the beach excursions.

My kids are too old for strollers now but I would get a nice umbrella stroller for travel. One that reclines and has a least a small canopy that you can put a lightweight blanket over to block the sun if needed. I know the Uppababy ones mentioned are good. I had Maclaren one when my kids were small. The baby Jogger Vue is another, nice narrow stroller as well as the Cybex ones.

If you are on a tight budget or don't have a lot of use for a umbrella stroller normally don't forget to check out craigslist or other sites in your area that people sell used baby gear (Facebook is good too) I found a great deal on a stroller for my sister recently.

Ok, umbrella stroller it is! Thank you everyone for taking the time to write. You guys are awesome!
