Any Star Wars WE experts?

Does anyone know how quickly the trivia sign up goes? We are wondering whether to go meet characters first in WWTBAM and then go sign up for trivia? We are more about the character pics and trivia than the autographs (although I still love my Carrie Fisher signed picture from when I was 7). :)

I'm trying really hard to remember what time the trivia trials took place...I want to say around 3 or 4....and they were still accepting people to go up on stage when we went inside the theater. There are probably 50-60 people on stage and they ask a few questions that pretty quickly knock it down to a handful of people. Last year the question that got everyone was a multiple choice question of what animals were native to Naboo....all but 6 or 7 people had to leave the stage!

I'll be in the audience cheering people on!

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what the prizes were for this? They didn't announce it.

For the experts, I have a question too. I know last year they actually extended the dated for SWW for 2 extra weeks. I was able to experience it for the first time because of that. I had a blast. Is that common or did I just get lucky? What is the chance of that happening again? I will be there on Father's Day which is the week after they are supposed to end the weekends.

Thanks!

They've extended SWW two years in a row so hopefully they'll do it again this year. Typically the announcement for an extension comes sometime around the first or second weekend.

where are the fastpass machines for the celebrity autographs located?....also does disney sell an autograph book especially decorated for the SW characters/celebrities?....if not they should.......my DS has several of the usually WDW autograph books filled with disney characters but I'd like to have a special one for this trip........we leave in approx 17 hours!!!! :cool1:

Last year the parade began at the front of the park, from gates on the left hand side, just past Sid's, went up the main drag, hooked a left at the hat, in front of the ABC theater and Sounds Dangerous, and went through the gate to the left of Star Tours/Jedi Training Stage. This is the route of the regular parade too.

Fastpasses for the celebrity autographs are handed out at the beginning of the day....people usually head there first...I don't know if they are wristbands, or regular fast passes, but they go fast. We skip this, although we may do it this year to meet Rick McCallum as he is a pretty big deal! As for the autograph books that are Star Wars specific, I've never seen them...although it may be cute to get a kids Star Wars picture book and have them autograph in there....I've seen some that have minimal words...just an idea!!

I hope you have a great time, I know I'm incredibly excited...I can barely stand to be at work!!! (Although, that is most of the time.)

Have fun!

For anyone who has gotten celebrity autographs- do they have anything there that they sign, or do you just use your autograph book. Also- the fake characters- do they sign just like the Disney characters do??

The year we went (2004) the Jedi Training Academy kids didn't get to keep their lightsabers and cloaks. They gave out some other prize but it wasn't very well organized and my ds who isn't one to push his way to the front of a crowd almost got skipped over.

Where are the fastpasses for celebrity autographs distributed? And do they distribute a new set every day of the weekend? We're coming from off-site the first morning we're there and I'm afraid that since its EMH that morning dh won't get there in time....we will have to check in at Pop super early if he wants to enter the park at 8am. I'm hoping if he misses out on Friday he can get fastpasses Saturday. Dh and ds are very excited about getting autographs from Jeremy Bulloch and Temuera Morrison.

My ds wants to do the kids' WWTBAM Star Wars edition. I bet he'll do great.

We were also there last year we missed the celebrity days but the characters were everywhere but I agree with Belle Amy the rebel characters were by TT & Star Tours And we caught glimpse of Darth Maul doing a few warm up kicks and spins before disappearing with The Emperor down Mickey Avenue.

My DS4 went to get on the speeder bikes from ROTJ by TT and saw a "little bear with his daddy" having pictures taken with other mummy's & daddy's yes this little bear was an Ewok and Chewy!! :rotfl:

We waited for a character picture with Darth Vader and while queueing a Gamorian guard (sorry for the spelling!) started playful pushing and joining in with conversations through the queue until he managed to work his way to the front of the queue and to Vader where they had a bit of a misunderstanding resulting in Vader using his mind grip to constrict the cheeky guards breathing making him fall to the floor and crawl away to safety away from Vader. Then just to add to that when it was our turn (me, DH, DD5 & DS4) to meet Vader he spotted DS Jedi Mickey and that DS was also holding tight to his light saber and started to playfully chase & fight with him which as you can imagine is every small boys & DH dream!!

We missed the character parade we didn't know that there was one but there were a few storm troopers, Darth Vader, The Emperor & guards and other SW characters walking through the normal parade. Will have to look out for that on our next visit!

The Jedi Academy was sooo cute to watch but if you do want to get your young padaone up on stage you do need to start queuing early for it but it is worth it.

Hope you enjoy!

The best part of SWW is the interaction between characters. I mentioned before about waiting in line to see Queen Amidala. The little girl in front of me was very shy and stepped up for her turn with Amidala. Amidala bent down to her level and said "Have you seen Anakin?" The little girl shook her head no. Amidala said "Well, if you see him, will you tell him I miss him?"

Sweetest thing!!!

The good thing about Jedi Training is that they are now doing it every day at least 5 or 6 times a day, so if you miss it on the weekends, when the crowds are particularly large, you can swing back by during the week. The times are on the schedule every day. I know for certain that they are letting the kids keep their robe and lightsaber, as I witnessed a little padawan using his jedi mind tricks on anyone around.

As far as I know, the celebrities are available every day. They hand out new fastpasses at the beginning of every day as well. The fastpass line was set up, I believe, in front of Hollywood and Vine. It was to the left before Keystone Clothiers.

This is the first year that they have an Extra Magic Hours scheduled for MGM, if I have heard correctly, so this will be a new experience for everyone.

Just got back from our WDW trip.

2 of my 3 padawans did the jedi training. It was tons of fun, and the female jedi master was a hoot...she made it so much fun for the kids and the parents who were watching as well.

A note: the kids do NOT get to keep the jedi robe or training light saber. They are given a small card that states they made it through the training, etc. They do sell the same light sabers in Tatooine Traders, so the previous poster might have seen some children with those. They had 7 sessions a day while we were there, and they reuse the same robes & sabers each time.

If your child wants to be included, it is best for them to make eye contact with the jedi master and act VERY excited about being chosen. 2 of the smallest children chosen were on their dad's shoulders so they could be seen.

Have fun!!
