Any speculation on 2010 dining plans?

Anyone hear anything about possible changes to the dining plan in 2010? I know they officially announce all the rates and dining plan options in August, but I do remember some time last year before that date, that people were talking about the new quick-service dining plan option, before it was officially announced. Any info on possibilities? I am assuming there will be a price increase at the very least.

haven't heard anything yet...I am guessing nothing much will change but the price.

Here in the UK, the free dining plan has gone on offer to us for 2010.

The free period runs from the begining of August to the begining of October and we have until Dec 09 to book. It's the same as our 2009 offer.

You can only get the free dining plan at a moderate or above. The mods are the QS dining plan and delexu full dining plan.

Hope this helps.

Looks like US peeps will be offered it again next spring, if the normal pattern follows us.

I just made room ressies for Jan. 2010 and I asked the castmember on the phone if she thought there may be a possibility for free dining in Jan. She told me that it hasn't been in the past but the dining plan would be 30% off during that time.

wonder if she meant 30% off the room...that would be more like what they offered last January. Not sure 30% off the dining would get very many people - that's not much of a deal, especially if you have to pay full room rate to get a discount on the dining plan.

Disney promotes the dining plan as a 30% savings on "great Disney dining", which is where they get that number.

When comparing cost of the plan to menu pricing, there is a savings and it can be significant depending upon where you choose to dine.

As posted our UK dining plan is currently being offered for next year, prices have increased but only by a few pounds, the offer I have goes through to the middle of November for 2010. The meal, tax and tip details don't appear to have changed from what I can see.

You can find the small print on the UK disney site or virginholidays.co.uk

The only difference seems to be the standard of dining offered as stated by heatherbelle. Also you can't upgrade from QSDP at a moderate to dxdp. We have had to pay in full meaning that if they do the same in the usa and you want the DXDP you either need to stay at a deluxe resort or pay full dollars for the DXDp.

No list of restaurants for 2010 is appearing on any of the UK sites that I have seen.

I thought that the UK restriction, limiting which dining plan you can purchase dependent on what type of accommodations you have, began in 2009?

I think the only change you will see in the plans themselves is a possible slight increase in the price.
