Any specific week in May?

DH and I will be going to WDW next May with my parents. They have a timeshare at the Mariott and will try to trade into a WDW vacation club (I heard this was hard, but they did it with no problems for their trip in September!) Anyway, is there a specific time of the month that's better? Is Mother's Day week really crowded?

I'm hoping the parks aren't too crowded at this time, we'll probably be spending 1/2 the week at our timeshare down in Key West. I hope we'll be able to get enough in!!

Suggestions?

TIA!

Hi Melissa,

I would just try to avoid Memorial Day weekend if possible.

We were just there Mother's Day weekend and we found the crowds to be pretty light, even though it was the first weekend of the celebration.

Have fun!

We've gone the first or second week of May the past 6 years, it wasn't very crowded. We always stay at OKW in May, it didn't seem busy 2 weeks ago, they should be able to get a trade there.

We have just got back and we almost always begin our visit on the last week in April (we fly from the UK and flight prices go up on the 1st of May).

We usually catch mothers day and never really see any *significant* increase in numbers. During the first 2 weeks of May are excellent regarding numbers of people, with walk-on length queues on many of the rides particulary during the weekdays.

Luckily the huge increase in numbers for the 50th celebration failed to materialise (as far as I saw anyway - maybe I was in the right place at the right time), so there shouldn't be a problem during these weeks next year!
