Any special Cinco de Mayo celebrations we should know about?

The only Cinco de Mayo stuff at Epcot will be in and around the Mexico pavilion. Other celebrations will be at Pleasure Island, with special bands and other activities. That's about it.

That's not really surprising, considering the high concentration of Hispanic locals and guests. And the fact that Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in many places throughout the US due to the large numbers of Hispanic citizens throughout the country. Plus ... Cinco de Mayo is one of those celebrations (like Chinese New Year) that has a very defined celebratory theme. When you think of the day, you have very specific images. Cinco de Mayo = mariachi music, tequila, Mexican dances. Chinese New Year = dragon dances and lantern parades. Canada Day has never really been defined within the US, that I'm aware. Perhaps that's part of it. I invite my Canadian friends over on July 4 to celebrate my nation's holiday, but I have never once been invited to a Canada Day party, so I don't know what those traditions are.

And it probably doesn't help the case that it's only three days before Independence Day in the US, so Disney is somewhat pre-occupied with those plans.
