Any solid CR updates??

We have the CR booked for the first week of free DDP (8/26 - 9/2). I know the Food & Fun Center will be closed by then and that a temporary grab & go area is planned. My question is this: Do we know if they will still have the mug program and will there be access to any hot, cafeteria food (burgers, pancakes, etc)? THANKS!

I doubt if we'll know for sure until someone reports back after the change. There were tons of rumors flying around before the POR food court refurbishment about what they would or wouldn't have, and we didn't get a straight answer until someone actually stayed there.

Based on what happened at the Poly, I would prepare yourself NOT to have refillable mugs, since they didn't have them while Captain Cooks was being refurbished. I also have doubts about hot food. The food served at the Outer Rim is cooked in the Concourse Steakhouse kitchen, so there isn't a kitchen on that side. When Roaring Forks at WL was being rehabed, I don't believe they had any hot food, just cold grab and go food. I think Captain Cooks had a limited supply of hot food because the temporary location was in a former restaurant. It's always better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

When is this part of the rehab scheduled to start? We're going 8/12-8/18. When we made our ressies, they told us about a few changes, but nothing about this area. If you have any info, please let me know! Thanks!

Below is the rehab schedule at the Contemporary. As a previous poster said, most likely there will not be refillable mugs or hot food at the temporary locaton given that these items were not available when the quick service locations were recently rehabbed at POR, WL, and the Poly.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

I think you are right. I can't even get a straight answer from the front desk at the Contemporary. Why is it that the Disers often know more than the cast members?

Thanks for the info. I've been watching for the updates, but this is the first I saw this. They definately didn't mention this when we made our ressies. I think they mentioned something about the laundry room and the tennis courts, but I think this is a little bit more important than that.

When I'd stopped at the CR a week or so ago, I did talk to a counter service CM about the change. So it isn't like it can't be mentioned, but Disney isn't always so swift on announcing updates.

My family and I will be staying at the Contemporary from August 7-17 and I will post what they serve at the temporary counter service location, while I am down there.

I don't think I will able to post a picture of it because I would be using the computer in our room, or the internet from the business center. What I will do is copy down the menu and post what items they are selling.

The only way I think I could post a picture is if I take it with my cell phone camera, e-mail it to myself and somehow load it onto a post.
