any SoCal residents: is $21/day a good car rental rate in CA?

just playing around w/ car rental rates for our upcoming trip to San Diego and Disneyland...

i don't know what car rental rates are like out in SoCal...

so, can anyone tell me if $21/day for a Mid-size car is considered a good car rental rate? (after taxes/fees it's $23/day)
this would be a National Emerald Aisle reservation.

i know for Orlando, this is a good rate.
but, is it possible to do better than this on CA car rentals?
we definitely want something at least Mid-size, so we can't consider any smaller car sizes.
