Sorry I haven't posted in a while, had a mean accident involving stairs in my garage, my head and concrete, needless to say I'm better and reading the boards again! Yayyyy, lol
Chell, I used to live in Boone, NC for 6 years, nice little town but I needed more city than that, but the beauty there is gorgeous!
I noticed a couple posts about roller coaster trips...My sons and I are going in mid July to hit some in Ohio, TN, VA and PA...should be fun. Love coasters, can't get enough of them.
Anyone on here going to Disney Aug 13-17 by chance? Just wondering if anyone else is going to be down there at that time?
I have missed posting, need to make up for lost time! :sunny: :sunny: :goodvibes :goodvibes

Glad you are better now. Boone is lovely. I want to move back up there at some point in life. Did you move there from a big city? I've never lived in a big city so that lifestyle is fine for me. As long as good music is within a day's drive I'm good to go. :cool1:

Chell....I used to live in the hustle bustle of south FL then to Boone, divorced moved to south TX, too hot ,lol...then up to northern MI..LOVE it here...just big enough..not huge city but has everything I need, plus all the seasons which I love.
Deltachi, thank you, I am feeling much better now.
Bump is about gone and I'm happily reading the boards again.
Yayyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi tiggergirl,
I'm doing a coaster trip end-of-July/beginning-of-Aug from MA down to NC. Sounds like our paths won't cross this time...Ohio/MI/etc next year for me.

Tiggergirl....Geez..I hope you are feeling better...did I not mention that I was a medical first responder? and you did not call?...Get better soon...

Um well I was crying at the bottom of the stairs, surely you heard me? You aren't that far away, lol?

Hello all! I'm new here and have lazily not taken the time to find/read the posting etiquette, so if I'm posting "out of turn," I ask your collective forgiveness in advance.

I stopped by your fine site while researching my upcoming trip to Orlando...by this time next week I should be enjoying my first-ever visit to Animal Kingdom. I was finding your site most useful in terms of getting tips and tricks from the experts when I stumbled across this thread. Granted, I've only had time to read the first couple of pages of postings...I'll have to give it a closer look when I get back.

I just felt compelled to register here so that I could post that I feel your pain, ladies. I'm going to WDW as part of the roller coaster enthusiast group, as we're having our annual convention there. I had always hoped I might find a fellow coaster fan to live happily ever after with, but alas our group is predominantly male. The minority of women in my hobby are either taken or not even close to my age range. It probably doesn't help much that I'm a bit of a quirky uber-geek in many respects. :) As such, it's been a bit of an exercise in frustration, but such is life, I suppose.

So on the scale that I quoted from the poster above, I guess I'd fall into the 6 or 7 range. I LIKE Disney, but I LOVE small, traditional style amusement parks and prefer wood coasters to steel--there's this place called Knoebels in central PA that I doubt most of you have heard of that I consider to be heaven on earth.

Anywho, just thought I'd share my empathy with ya'll. Good luck to all in your respective searches.

-Jason

I'm about about an hour and a half away from Knoebels - even closer to Dorney Park (about 7 miles down my road). Went to Knoebels quite a bit when my niece was younger, but haven't been there in years. Dorney is a must do if you're a coaster enthusiast!!!

 Hey tiggergirl from another Michigander... Traverse City is the "caribbean of the north".... I LOVE how beautiful your area is. Welcome back and glad to hear that you are healing well! I'm hoping to be up your way toward the end of August! My DS (6) has never been north of Saginaw! :confused3

Hi Kimmielee, The bay really is the color of the Caribbean sea. I had gone to St Thomas right before moving up here and came over the hill into town and saw the bay in the distance and couldn't believe the green and blue bright water, thought I was seeing things. I'm lucky to have to drive along it every day to and from work, sighhhhhhhhhhh......
I love it here, and yes I'm pretty much healed, just have a sore head still but feeling SO much better now! :goodvibes

Hey new to post here. Haven't read through all, just first couple pages.

I am a single female 28. Never married and have no kids. Need to find the Prince Charming :lovestruc before the little prince and princesses come along! Unfortunately as others have said most have been frogs! lol I live in RI. Looking for someone who loves disney vacations as I am a dvc owner (since last year! yea!) and like going alot! I have 4 trips planned there between August to January! Also looking for someone from the age ranges of about 26 - 35. But would also like to make disney freinds too, guys and girls! As I don't have many people to go there with me it would be so fun to make friends to meet up there with! :jumping1:

not hiding, your just not looking in the right places :magnify::magnify:

:dancer:

Isn't that an old country song? "Looking for love in all the wrong places... "

From the Urban Cowboy soundtrack? :lmao: Ok, I just dated myself... :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I gave up trying to find some magical Disney woman. I figure I'll just find a regular woman and convert her.

Sonno, that isn't as easy as you may think. I've tried to convert a guy to like Disney, not love it, would be happy with him LIKING Disney World and understanding the fun it is to plan it and who cares if I've been countless times since I was a kid living in Florida, lol.
I'm just disillusioned with the whole Prince Charming thing.Do the qualities of romance AND a man who likes Disney World even exist? I'm thinking I should give up on that whole idea. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :confused3

Yeah, I have given up as well. But hopefully I can at least find some good friends around here.

Maybe I've just become comfortable secluded in my lonely little bubble.
Maybe I'm just tired and ready to sleep. Maybe I'll dream a nice little dream.
But I'll still be here, safe, and alone.

Wth am I some kind of a poet or something now... gees... I really need to get out more...

Gee Sonno, I can relate to that deep comment, lol...and maybe that's not a good thing,lol....
Chell? You are so right....you can never have too many friends.....friends are the best! esp those here on the DIS.... :grouphug:
