any sicknesses going around now?

hi everyone...
so heres my question--i woke up in the middle of the night, sore throat--fever was 102.4...my back nad chest hurt so that when i take a deep breath or cough it hurts pretty bad....just wondering if anyone has had this ...and can give some advice on how long it lasts...

After our trip, my daughter had a high fever, and cold, then I caught it. I still am getting over my cold which has lasted for over a month, but we didnt' have any chest pains and such.
I used to work with kids and used to get their lovely germs also.

lots of bronchial stuff going around here. I just had a relapse from a nasty case of sinusitis. If the pain/congestion in your chest continues, you might want to give your doc a call. I know 2 people from work that got pneumonia recently.

I just got off the phone with my DS-I-L and she said her girls had it last week and my DB has had it all this weekend. She took the girls to the Dr. and he said it was just a really bad virus that is going around... hope you are feeling better soon...

I work in a primary care office--- I can tell you there is an awful chest cold going around. It seems it starts w/ a sore throat and then progresses from there.

yep, my 2 year old son woke up thursday with a cold. we weren't sure if it was allergies at first, but by friday he had a fever (low grade) and it spread into his chest. friday night it was bad enough that we gave him 2 treatments with his nebulizer and a third treatment when he woke up at midnight. He went thru 3 periods where he was completely inconsolible, which is very unlike him. took him to the peds on saturday and he's now on a steroid for his lungs (he has asthma and anything in his lungs is bad) and he has an ear infection. thankfully his chest is loosening up and he seems to be feeling better. No more fever as of this evening.

As for myself and the twins, we've been battling thrush and thursday or friday I was concerned that I was coming down with mastitis. fever, aches, chills. fever wasn't quite high enough for mastitis, and by today it is pretty much gone, but I am definitely congested, although not so much in my chest. the twins, 3 months old, are both sneezing. ugh. hoping it doesn't get worse for them!

I just told DH tonight at dinner I feel like I'm getting a cold. Sore throat is just starting and I feel really, really tired. We even slept in today until almost 9 a.m. something unheard of with DS4 -- even he slept in.

Now I know what I'm probably getting.

I had a very similar illness two and a half weeks ago. Sore throat in the morning and then chills and a high fever that night. Extremely fatigued and it hurt to breathe deeply. Actually all my muscles ached but the cough from breathely deeply was the painful. It took a full week before I started feeling much better. It definitely wasn't sinus as I do get sinus headaches but this was something I never experienced before. Thought maybe it was the flu although it isn't flu season.

Much sympathy and hope everyone feels much better very soon.

I work at a day care too. For the past three weeks, we've had stomach viruses, strep throat, and the coxsackie virus (which is pretty much a weekly occurrence) all going around at the same time. Definitely lots of coughs and congestion going around too, although a lot of it seems to be attributed to allergies.

I had something last week. Severe muscle aches, fever, freezing one minute, burning up the next, my head hurt, my eyes hurt. I felt like I'd been hit with a truck. It lasted a couple of days. I whined for a couple more days afterwards.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

okay--well dr gave me Zithromax---it has helped me in the past, but i have never felt like this before..im sitting here wrapped in a blanket--fever is 101 so far.....and had work all day today---

We just got back from WDW this weekend and my DH has been very sick with a cold and high fever.
