Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

*holds head* I really understand feeling like you're missing out but when it comes to FP+ it's a person getting 3 more than the regular park goer. 3. Just 3. Because guess what, as a non tester you can double and triple dip the old FP right now too. You can put your room key, and an old ticket in the machine and get two passes right now. (Or your room key, your AP and an old ticket). I don't think those 3 extra FastPasses for testers are going to break the system. I think it's time to wander away. Wilderness Lodge wasn't picked and I suffered the disappointment for a couple days. But some of what's happening on this thread is just a giant wet blanket.

Band or no band you are going to Disney World! And the only non testers complaining about it hurting their trip haven't actually gone on their trip yet. You don't actually know if it will affect you. But I almost think you really want it to so that your complaints will be justified. Has anyone come back in the past couple weeks saying "trip was crap with no band?"

September is a slow month. I doubt with no band I will wait in a single line longer than 20 minutes provided I route my day right. Those three extra FastPasses won't break my soul or my spirit.

BECAUSE I AM GOING TO BE IN DISNEY WORLD!

I think the perceived negative effects of people using fp+ is greatly over blown, especially for the month of September.
There are only a handful of resorts participating in the tests. A small number compared to the amount of people visiting from a non-Disney or in a non- participating Disney hotel. Take all these people using them and spread them out amongst 6 parks, downtown Disney, there respective resorts, and other area attractions and the number is less.

Also, I imagine 95% of the people going to be their in September do not even know about it yet, and may not find out about it until they arrive. And even at that point may not care. Not to mention if this holds true to Disney statistics that say only 30% of people using Disney use fastpasses then the number is even less.

Are there people who will try to abuse the system? Absolutely! But why should what there doing affect you. I'll agree it's irritating when people use loopholes to exploit the system with no regard to others, but let Disney handle that. I am sure they are aware.

And did I mention it's September. Ride queues are among the shortest they all year. For a lot there will not be a need to even use one and I expect in some cases the fastpass queue will be longer.

For those who are saying this has ruined there vacation, I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous. No one knew that this was going to be occurring, and there was no way to plan months ago to be part of this. When I planned my vacation months ago, I didn't build my vacation around the notion I may get selected for a Disney test I knew nothing about. I planned it the best I could for me and my family and whatever else happened was cherry on top. I planned everything I could to make it the best I could. And despite whatever else I am just as happy today as I was 6 months ago. Because I am getting exactly what I paid and planned for

The thing that kills me is that obviously in some way you are privileged enough to be able go to Disney world. Something many people dream of and never get to. (Myself included for most of my life) and then get bent out of shape because Bob and family at the POP got to ride a few rides more then them, or gets a slightly better view of the evening fireworks, because of a test they are doing, that they obviously have reasons for not doing a full scale deployment of yet. I don't get it.

Does it suck to feel left out? Absolutely! But it shouldn't ruin your vacation.

I have to chime in on this debate. Will not being part of the test ruin most people's vacation? Of course not.

However, I can say that for those staying at BLT, AKL Kidani and POFQ I think you have a MAJOR gripe.

How could one not feel like they are being treated as second class when half of the resort is part of the test and the "other" half is not.

I wanted to do the MB and FP+, so I made a RO "ghost reservation". I have no issue with some hotels allowed to test and other not. However, I have a HUGE issue with these 'part of the hotel' can test while others staying at the SAME resort can't.

I'll never tell somewhat what to do or how to feel. But let me say this much: If it were me, and I was feeling a bit "snubbed" about my upcoming trip, this is how I'd forget every last concern:

Google a few pictures of Magic Kingdom at night or queue up a youtube video of a late-night walk through MK. Just five or ten minutes. Get away from the forums for a minute, get away from the discussions about FP and FP+ and dipping and Magicbands and websites, stop worrying about wait times (which aren't going to be any different than they ever are) and take a moment to remember why you keep going back to WDW, what makes you love the place. (I can give you a hint: It's not fastpasses or bracelets). Take time to stop and smell the "roses" and I promise you'll forget all about the bands and FP+ and whatever. There's so much that makes you love WDW, and Magicbands are an ironic name, because they're such an insignificant part of the actual magic you feel. Your trip will be as magical as you allow it to be. Don't stress over the little things.

Let me get this straight. You're staying at Poly (I've always wanted to check it out but I can't afford it). You'll have access to FP like you always did. And you probably wouldn't have used FP+ anyway even if you got it.

And you feel like your vacation is going to suck because you aren't part of a test you wouldn't participate in anyway?

I'm sorry if I'm missing something.

If it makes any deluxe resort goers feel any better, I'll trade my Magicbands and all my FP+ for your Contemporary or Poly or GF room. We can swap straight up.

I never said my vacation was ruined. Am I a little jealous? Yeah. But I'm staying at the beautiful, relaxing poly. I'm not trading anything. I just said I probably wouldn't use the fp+. Maybe I would have used it for something if the opportunity was there. Maybe not. Just saying with the crowd levels when I'm there the only thing we usually need a fp for is tsm. I just hate that I know I am checking in one day early so I can't get the bands. Maybe I would be better off had I not known.

For all those that have been able to customize magicbands, were you able to select your pin during the customization process?

I have a friend that customized bands but nothing came up about the pin, just wondering if that is the norm.

No, was not able to set the pin when ordering the MB. You do that when you do the online check in. There is a place during the process for it.

We just came home to a Fed Ex envelope on our front porch with a FP+ invite in it from Disney Destinations!! Kids are thrilled!! About to go customize now. We are at AofA Sept 3-9th! :cool1:

So glad to hear that the letters are still going out! We are at day 19 so 2 more days for us to see if we get one too.

Hi everyone!

A few things... We are staying Beach Club Villlas 9/20-9/27. I went online and booked our FP+ so we are part of the test! We are paying cash, not DVC members or renting. So, it's probably safe to say cash-paying BCV are included.

Also, I found it fairly easy to copy the FP+ reservations we made to our family on another reservation. There was only 1 time that didn't match and their times are only 5 minutes later than ours.

Question - how have you been able to customize your bands? Online check-in and then it becomes available?

Thanks!

Has anyone staying at Kidani (not through DVC) been able to book FP+ like the above? I don't want to do online check in, but if that might unlock the FP+ for us, then I will. We are staying Kidani, but cash as described above through normal disney reservation system not through DVC, so I'm not sure if we aren't getting the magic band link because its Kidani or because we haven't checked in yet. I was thinking it was Kidani, but above post makes me think maybe not.

Not trying to start an argument, but it's easy to have the opinion as stated when you have been given the option of obtaining early FP+, MB, BOG times, etc. When that is not available to you, it's a little more hard to swallow.

I understand that testing is required. I'm just not sure what the best method and selection process would have been to do this.

I'm staying at Kidani through DVC, can't choose FP+ or order magic bands have not done online check in.

Split stay, moving to AOA later in the week. Did online check in and can now customize my bands. Says I need to do it wtihin 8 days, which would be 30 days before check in. I was able to make FP+ selection for a few days starting with the day we check in to AOA. Once I checked in online I can do MB.

There was an earlier posting that stated it was Jambo House only, no Kidani Village this run.

We're staying at the Caribbean Beach on September 14th and would LOVE to test Magic Bands! It's 6 of us in 3 sets of 2 (all adults) at a Disney World family reunion. As I don't really get all the hotel initials you guys use, is Caribbean Beach in the September tests?

We're planning to hit the water parks on one day and I think the bands would be great. Reminds me of the bracelet with Photopass card. Would be so nice to not have to worry about a purse or place to stash a card.

Well that is what I thought, but then the post above made me think maybe not as long as you aren't in the DVC system but the regular Disney system.

We are staying there too, so far it is not on the test. Fingers and toes crossed!

If it means that much to you than change hotels. I am not trying to be mean or anything but really if you are not happy than change and be happy. Such an easy thing to do. We change hotels all the time. Really no big deal at all.

Yup. It means a lot to me so I added a night at POP.

That's when I did it, online checkin, but now I can't remember what it is! If I still don't remember when i get there do you think I can change it @ the front desk?

Yes, you can change at the front desk. Have a magical trip!

Has anyone been able to select a FastPass for Enchanted Tales with Belle in this run? I don't have the option for the end of September. I didn't get any bonus selection either that some people were reporting. Just curious.

I don't want to go through the hassle of going through that. We already have our documents, ME tags, etc. I'm not going to risk a problem 20 days out.
