Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

You really don't need to do any of the advanced planning. You should (in theory) have access to regular old FP during your stay, so any FP+ you assign are a bonus.

If you're not seeing the "personalize Magicbands" link, doing online check-in (or re-doing it) has made the link appear for some.

I had read that, about online check-in- we had already done online check-in, though, so I'd thought that wasn't it, but then thought maybe I'd try "Modify Check-in", which I did (making no changes) and... voilá! I've now set all of our colors and names, under a dire warning to "act quickly!" as our order might ship at ANY MOMENT.

Again with the haven't read ALL 107 pages of this thread but- I didn't see any other reference to people staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge (only villas) getting MB/FP+ in September? That's pretty much why I was figuring we would not be involved.

The reason that you are not able to select Fast Pass + features
beyond September 28th is because this is the last day of the Beta
Testing of the Fast Pass + feature. The kiosk at the rides where you
would redeem the selections will not be active beyond this date."

So from what she's saying, people who are able to book FP+ after that date were all lying? Hmmm...

I am hearing a whole bunch of people with RO reservations getting to make FP+ selections, but it's not letting me do it and we have our magicbands. Is there something I'm missing?

And here is where we have a slight issue. I'm arriving on 9/29 at AoA and have customized bands for that stay. I can't get FP+, but did order bands for that reservation. Why send me bands (and duplicates at that matter because I was also able to order for my 9/28 stay at AKV Jambo)? Unless they are going to stop the room keys on that day, but i doubt that given all the issues they still seem to be having.

CM said it was the FP+ test that ended on the 28th, so maybe bands are continuing.

If I had to guess (which I have to because nobody knows anything for sure) I would say it's likely the test will extend eventually into October unless the September test is satisfactory and they roll it out to everyone.

In my opinion if September starts off well we'll see FP+ choices beyond the 28th. So keep checking and if someone previously blocked from those dates is able to get them, post it here!

Added : I check in to AoA on the 30th for my second resort and no MBs for that yet.

And another question that just hit me about tickets and multiple MagicBands...we check out on 9/29 from AKV but are going to the park that day, so our tickets will be used on the AKV stay...when we check out of AKV and then check into AoA will I be able to move the tickets from one band to the other? (Does that make sense?? LOL)

That answer is probably on the August test thread, somewhere. Might want to try posting the question there.

It all depends on your arrival date. For example, I check-in to POP on September 24th, and my MDE says "Customize by August 24th." (that's exactly 1 month before my arrival) I can go in and re-customize if I want to.

If you're less than a month out, I don't think it will have a date on there for you. They will send the bands as soon as you customize.

If you don't actually go ahead and confirm your shipping address, the bands will be at your resort (at least that's what MDE website told me before I confirmed my shipping address).

I have a bit of a dilemma and need some help, Disboards!

I have a split stay trip coming up at the end of Sept. Our first 3 nights will be at POFQ, and our last night will be at AoA. We were able to order Magicbands on MDE because of the AoA stay - however, POFQ has not been included in the test and I am worried we will only be able to utilize the bands starting on our last night? Do you think I could contact Disney and get them to become active when we arrive to POFQ? I am kind of afriad to call the reservation line and confuse some poor CM on the other line with my weird problem.


Anyone else have split stay issues with this test?

I don't know if you will be able to get them early, but when you call the main Disney number say "Magic Band Testing" when you get to the first prompt. That will take you right to the IT department and they have the "best" info on magic bands and may actually be able to get you an answer, or at least a better answer than a regular call center CM

I check into POP 9/22 and we haven't been able to do anything with magic bands yet. I was able to make fast pass+ selections.

Did you already do online check in? If not, do it, I'd yes, redo it by modify check in on the MDE main page. Should work then. Got the tip on here and it worked for me!

Is anybody seeing Fanstasmic available for Sunday September 7?

Well, I'm pretty lost now. So many posts everywhere, and me with a life. Or, something.

I'd been going along with the assumption that we were not going to be included in whatever is going on- arriving Sept 12 for six nights at AKL. But today I logged into MDE, just as I have every day for weeks (OK, that thing about having a life up there, that was clearly a lie), and- I can make FP+ selections. What the what? No mention of MB customization anywhere, just FP+. Will we get MagicBands? Can we use FP+ with KTTW cards? Are the FP+ selections I might make now just fantasy make believe? If it's fantasy make believe, but I clap real hard, will they become a real boy? We're not even bringing any boys, so that might be nice.

I've only ever been to Disneyland (not counting 4 days at WDW in 1986- Magic Kingdom (pretend Disneyland) and Epcot Center (loved it, bought the album) and that was it!), and there only for day trips with a local-resident annual pass. I'm totally feeling nostalgic for those simple times... this WDW stuff is kind of nuts!

If you had previously done online checkin then you may need to modify your checkin to get magic bands to appear for you on MDE. This happened to us after reading about others doing so.

I was told by an IT dept CM that people in the test will automatically receive a key card in addition to the magic band. It can be used as a back up for tap to pay and room entry, and in the FP machines

I've read virtually every page... then again I've been checking this thread since it started a couple times a day.

All the answers are in here, the problem is going thru 107 pages to find them.

I have re-answered so many questions it isn't funny, so have other people. Even back when the thread was 50 pages long.

It's useless at this point. The exact same things keep getting asked and answered every 4-5 pages.

I'm giving up on this thread now, it's exhausting, this thread should be under 40 pages long, but it's well over 100 pages because hardly anyone takes time to read at least the past 5 pages before posting the same questions that have been answered dozens of times previously.

Yeah I don't really have time to read through and that's kind of what discussion boards are for. Don't wanna answer the questions anymore? Leave the thread. Super simple.
