Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Like some of you, I'm considering booking one night at POP just to get the MagicBands. Eesh, how pathetic! I will actually be in Orlando from Sept 11-21st, but we are currently staying at the Renaissance SeaWorld for 11-13, then moving to VWL for the rest of our stay.

Would I have to actually CHECK-IN at POP to get my bands to work? That would be a total PITA. I honestly wouldn't mind eating the $135 room cost (as opposed to canceling after getting the bands in the mail) but I won't even consider it if I have to go there in person to check in to a room I don't intend to use.

Well this just got interesting. We are at the MCO Hyatt the first night then moving over to the Poly. This is something to think about. So let me get this straight. If I was to stay just one night at POP I could get the magic bangs for the rest of my stay at the Poly???

I love how people are literally going crazy over something that's in a "test phase", but will eventually be available to anyone who stays at Disney. It seems a little bit crazy to be talking about 1-night resort changes or double booking rooms just to get a Magic Band. Especially when nearly everybody talking about doing this are most-likely yearly (or more frequent) visitors. It truly boggles the mind.

PLEASE GUYS REMEMBER THAT SO FAR NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO GET A BAND PAST THE 8th. I see more people planning on booking one night stays to get bands. But I would hate for you to end up in a mess if the test really ends the 8th and no one past that gets diddly.

So far, it appears check-ins around 9/8/13 are able to do it...I'm at 29 days and biting my nails! :scared1:

really is a nail bitter been checking MDE for months now trying to see if any customize notifications appear and hearing now for Sept guest some are customizing it feels like i am at a ball game.

For those that used FP+ for BOG lunch, did you get some sort of confirmation? Email? MDE? Carrier Pidgeon? Just concerned about getting there and not having a ressie.

Whoa! People are actually considering eating the cost of a resort room for a night just to get a shot at MB/FP+??? Looks like Disney has a winner on their hands. :confused3

I absolutely agree with you! And still I am tempted. This will likely be our last visit for a few years at least, and what can I say, I'm an "early adopter". Haha.

Really, on my part it is 99.9% just talk, but interesting to wonder about. At least gives me something else Disney related to think about now that my ADRs are totally finalized and loose touring plans made. :rotfl:

The really crazy part is that I don't even like the idea of FP+. I just like the idea of not having to carry ANYTHING into the parks, not having to get out my credit/KTTW card, etc..

I get my "planning fix" creating customized touring plans on the Touring Plans site - http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/touring-plans/personalized . I don't know how accurate they are - they seem to know what they're talking about, but either way, it's free and playing with the variables keeps me entertained.

Well for us...we go every 5 years. We are not planning on booking a RO or doing anything extra like that...but if we do not get MB when we stay at the Poly in Oct, we will be waiting 5 years for the opportunity.

We are flying in the day before our Poly reservation starts, but we have a free room using points at an embassy suites. If we were paying for a room anyway, would we consider switching to a cheaper resort that had MB, if we could use it for our whole stay? Maybe.

BTW...I do not think MBs are going to work on the doors in resorts that are not testing...just FYI. :)

I just caught up on the thread (I think) and didn't see this answer. Pardon me if I missed it, but I am checking into POP 9/7 for 7 nights. I was able to go in today and customize my magic bands and make FP+ reservations, but there were only a few selections per park (ex: no fireworks, parades, Enchanted Tales, etc). Is this across the board or just me?

Across the board. They haven't released any of the FP+ only attractions.

I'm soooooo over whelmed lol we will be in disney in 21 days for the first time... I just looked online and we were able to pick times and customize our bands!!!! I don't even know where to start or what to pick lol this is soooooo much

Yay!!!! I had never heard of touringplans. This gives me something to spend time on as I hurry up and wait!

It really depends on whether the testing will be happening later on in September. When I changed my arrival night to the YC (8/30), my date was not part of the original test schedule (it ended 8/27 originally). I'm staying at the BC for my package, but the YC had a room that was cheaper than the two rooms at the Hyatt, and less than the lagoon view at the BC. After I had the reservation for about a week I got the pop-up that I could customize magic bands. I just got an e-mail and overnight letter today letting me know I was in the test group.

I don't know if I'd want to pay for a room up front if it wasn't something that I'd want to do without the MB possibility. If they don't extend the testing, do you have to wait for a refund of the room deposit?

Oh ok, any idea when/if that will happen?? I REALLY want Wishes. Also, has Fantasmic been on the past tests?

I check in on 8/30 and I was able to do my FP+ selections. None of the parades or shows were choices to pick from on any of the days that were open to me (8/31 through 9/7). People who are in the original August test dates (ending 8/27), could pick shows and parades, but only on the weekends.

:) I find it totally addictive. I have no intention of *actually* making sure we're on the Barnstormer at 11:50 AM so we can be on the Tea Cups at 11:58 AM, just in time to get our FP's to Peter Pan at 12:05 PM on September 9, but it makes me feel like I'm planning and that makes the waiting slightly easier!

Ha ha!! That makes me feel less insane!! I have been done planning for months and I still spend hours looking at these boards to try and make sure I have done everything! When I found out about the magic bands I was excited because it gave me something else to do....but they made it way too easy and I was done within an hour!
