Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Yes! We will be at WDW Sept 19-22 (mainly for 1st time Halloween party). I'm so excited. Making FastPass+ choices this weekend! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
I got my invitation via UPS this morning. I never got an email invite even though my email is attached to the My Disney Experience account that my reservation is linked to. The letter instructed me to sign up for the testing by Sept. 14th if I wanted to participate.

I'm staying at BCV on my own DVC points at the end of Sept. I have a split stay at BWV linked to the same MDE account and I was able to choose FP+ times for each of the days we will be there.

I had purchased tickets ahead of time (6-day hoppers for my sister and BIL, DVC PAP vouchers for me and my husband). I was able to use the MDE app to scan the bar codes on the tickets and vouchers and then link them to each person. It was so easy to do! Much nicer than having to read the small print and try to distinguish between an O, 0 or D! My eyes are too old for that nonsense!

I customized our bands and now I'm waiting for them to ship. I know that they can contact me by email because they sent a confirmation that a "DVC Premium Annual Pass Promo - New - Certificate" had been added to my name. It would be nice to know when to expect them.

I can't wait for them to arrive!

Today I got an email invitation to participate at 28 days out from check in.

A few observations. Does everyone's letter say "Since MyMagic+ is still being developed, we're offering this opportunity for some Guests, and Disney Vacation Club Members like you...."

I ask because the first part of our split stay is at Kidani, which is not part of the test. So why are they mentioning that I'm DVC if that reservation isn't part of the test.

Second, it says I have until September 16 to customize my bands. I already customized my bands and received them. I had only until August 26 to customize (exactly 1 month from check in).

I really wish we could use the bands with our APs as soon as we arrive at Kidani, but we only get to do it for 2 days when we stay at AOA.

They're probably mentioning DVC because it's a form letter and some DVC resorts are testing or have tested-- BLT did, and BCV is testing in September.

This might help some of you guys, I read on a different thread today (so many FP+ threads, its like a full time job to keep up! :) ), that if you are doing a split stay, with your second resort being eligible for MB testing, you can take your MB to guest relations and sign up for FP+ for the days you are staying at a non-testing resort. You have to do it every morning, but since we are still testing, there is plenty of availability, even day of.

I have no problem going to Guest Services right after rope drop, if it means I can sign up for 3 additional FPs! I'm going to be so sad after this trip when testing is done and we have to deal with the FP+ "real world".

We got a paper invitation via UPS this morning as well.

It was a nice touch, and would have been exciting to get if we hadn't already known that we could get magic bands and fastpass+.

If we weren't well read, we would never have known it was an option, so its smart of WDW to be shipping these letters.

So it must be a different process for those of us not in the US because I never did recieve a letter. I just had a CM call and tell me I needed to input my res# online since POR was a test resort and I needed to customize my magic bands. Then they ship them to the resort for check-in... not my home.

I got my letter today via UPS (I'm about 4 weeks out), and I got an email informing me of the test a few days ago. I had already received my Magicbands a few days ago.

Second, it says I have until September 16 to customize my bands. I already customized my bands and received them. I had only until August 26 to customize (exactly 1 month from check in).

I'm guessing that there's a certain "trigger" if you're browsing the MDE website, that lets you customize early. If you never logged into MDE, then your customize deadline would probably be later - up until the latest of September 16th, after which they'd either send you gray bands or have the gray ones waiting for you at the resort.

I think basically they would rather play it safe and have you customize 30 days in advance to be sure you get them in time. But if you don't log it, you don't trigger that 30 day deadline, and it gives you a little extra time to customize.

ok since i had to book the day before to be able to use my magic bands i need to buy 2 - 1 day tickets but 200 dollars is alot for one day is there anywhere cheaper to buy tickets

BOG lunch is counter service. There are no reservations. But having said that, dinner reservations book up faster than CRT! They are the hottest reservation to get right now. I booked my dinner ADR as soon as my 180+10 window opened up and the first available night was at 180+4.

You can absolutely make reservations for lunch via your FastPass + options.

I am trying to get a BOG lunch for Oct. 5 week, and they say there are none available...is it b/they haven't released them yet? Surely they aren't taken, that is the full week before Columbus Day. Anyone get one?

I was able to get a reservation for that week. But I had to take a day that wasn't very optimal to our plans b/c they were already sold out (probably thanks to the Dis ;) hehehe).

I have just received my 2nd reminder to go to MDE and update my address and customize my bands. Funny, because of course, I already have them. The program definitely needs some tweaking. It should automagically turn off the reminders once you have customized your bands. It is the test phase, I know.

Is the second part of your trip a package with tickets? If so from what I've read if you link your reservations (room only and package) it will allow you to make FP+ selections. Also you can get your package tickets up to 3 days early (just tickets not dining credits if you have dining). You shouldn't need to buy 1 day tickets if you already have tickets.

i have 6 tickets already but i need one more and i dont know if i could get the same price as if i was buying 7 at the same time

You only need one ticket per person and then you just buy how ever many days/park entitlements you need for each ticket. There can be a max of 10 days per ticket so if you already have 10 day tickets you would need to get another ticket. Once you get a 4 or 5 day ticket or so it's only about $10 to add each day.

Ok thanks I called and they said just to upgrade to a 7 day and its only gonna cost us $20 so we are excited thanks for yalls help.

We got the invite to participate in the test. If we do the test and get the bands and FP+, can we still use regular fastpasses?

Can you just add a day to your existing tickets? It will be cheaper for sure!

So I committed a big goof tonight - we decided to try and book the POR room in hopes of getting to try the MB/FP+. SO I logged in - found a room at POR (we are a fam of 5) and booked it. (we were staying off site the first night anyway) So I log out - log back in and my reservation is gone....I it's no where on my MDE. THen I finally find it but can't check in...and no FP+ or MB.......then I log out and try again and I notice....I didn't book a room for 2013....but for 2014 :crazy2:

So a call to guest relations and I get it all straightened out :cheer2:

And when I log back in I get the go ahead to choose my FP+ and customize my MB's :cool1: all the way through my second reservation at BLT.

Super excited now :)

22 days till our trip :)
