I live in Ohio and our districts do not usually get out until the first part of June.

:cool1: Our schools (Zachary, Louisiana) get out May 19th. We will be there the 20th thru 27th!!

My kids get out around the 21st OF JUNE THAT IS.....lol depends on how many snow days that they have to make up, guess Northern NE does not have to be factred into your plans

Enjoy your trip

Here in GA. they are thinking about moving the begining of school to the last Monday in August state wide. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We have been starting the 2nd Monday in the month and this way the first semester is finished before X-mas break. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the info. :flower:

Posted earlier that we were out May 20- seems that statewide, NC is changing the school year to starting closer to Labor Day, and ending closer to June 1st. Guess this is out last year of being able to beat the crowds at WDW in late May!

My kids get out May 20th but not all Oklahoma schools do. My oldest daughter teaches in a different district and doesn't get out till the 6th of June.

Another GA resident responding - SE Ga. schools are also out May 20th. On the plus side, many people won't/can't take kids out the final week of school because they don't want to or can't miss end-of-the-year parties or final exams.

BUT...we too are thinking of pulling DD5 (who is only in Pre-K) out the last week and making a trip down from 5/15 to 5/20 in an attempt to beat the crowds. Right now on the WDW official web site, every hotel I've checked has had rooms for that week which I'm taking as a good sign! princess:

I think that you will be ok with a taking your son out of school at his age.
When our daughter hits high school(2.5 year) there will be no taking her out either because of final exams. :scared1: :scared1: I have already bought airfare and now I am wishing we left 1 day earlier. :sad2: Then we could take advantage of the MK extra hours in the evening.

Oh by the ay do y ou maind telling me where in SE GA you live? We live in Swainsboro it is about midway on I-16 between Savannah and Macon. This is the first time we are flying. Savannah now has direct flights to MCO . We can be there including our driving time to SAV in about 2.5 hours. That is alot beter than 5.5-6 hours on the road. :thewave:

I have a question for you Florida residents. Up north here, we had heard that because of the hurricanes many kids had missed up to a month of school. Due to this a couple weeks would be added to the end of the school year - putting most of you out sometime in early June. Is there any truth to this? How many hurricane days did you miss? How have/will those days be made up?

Just curious.
