As you guys know I'm looking to book Disney for Christmas and looking at the dates

28th Nov-30th Nov
5th Dec - 7th Dec
12th Dec - 14th Dec

I'm guessing there arent any holidays for children then as they have Christmas coming up but want to check before I book.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks you

Don't think there's any English holidays then, don't know about Scottish or European ones though.

8th of December is a holiday in some European countries as far as I know and we have always found that the closer to that date you are the busier it is so we always go end of November now to avoid the 8th of December madness

It's not a French one that's for sure..wonder who's it is :confused3

There's no public holidays after the 11th of November for us and Christmas school holidays starts 22nd of December

It's a religious holiday in Catholic countries. It's the feast of the Immaculate Conception. All the schools in Ireland used to have it as a day off school until just a few years ago. When I was a child it was a huge shopping day for Christmas when kids would go into Dublin city to visit Santa and to buy Christmas presents for friends and family.

I'm presuming therefore that it's still a religious holiday in some countries as I noticed a definite surge in visitors the weekend closest to the 8th of December when I was there at that time a few years ago. I have vowed to go a week earlier ever since as it's much quieter and I like to just walk onto the rides!!

Actually just looked it up on Wikipedia and it's a public holiday in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Monaco amongst others. And from what I could tell if it falls near a week end, eg. on a Thursday, people take an extra day off work to make a long weekend of it.

Thank you for the info :goodvibes

It's funny we don't get it then as we get several of the Catholic ones

We also do the 3/4 day weekend thing...we have had 3 x 4 day weekends so far this month and with next Monday off taht makes a 3 day weekend :cool1:
