Any rumoured dates for Jambo House reopening? [Update: Opens 8/26/2021]

Hearing rumoured dates for other currently closed resorts but nothing about Jambo. Anyone heard anything?

I have not heard any yet. But TBH if it opens before next summer I would totally switch from the Poly! Might shoot my TA an email tomorrow and say “If you get word that AKL is opening in time, can we swap my pre-Wish stay to AKL Savanna View please?”

We are booked in Jambo House in October 2021…. When we booked three weeks ago, we could only get one night but put on waitlist for two more. Got them last week.

I think the OP, and I know I, was talking about the non-DVC rooms.

I read a couple of places that they "think" it will be October. Nothing definite but with the 50 year celebration that would make sense.

Yes, it is DVC rooms. Sorry about that! This will be our first stay at AK so not familiar with it at all and am easily confused!

It's ok. It's confusing with Jambo having both.

Yep - my pre-Wish cruise stay in August 2022 got changed to AKL!!

I did contemplate moving my birthday trip to late August so I could stay at AKL and hit the After Hours Boo Bash...but I *think* I'd rather celebrate my actual birthday at Disney this year (July 20) and just suck it up and stay at WL...I think...

Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed for the opening of Boma, Jiko, Zawadi, and at some point, the 'normal' Club Level they offer at Jambo. But this is great news!

It's hard to imagine Jambo reopening without the rest of the AKL restaurants reopening. Even with Jambo closed, when I was at Kidani in March there was so much booking pressure on Sanaa. More restaurants are needed, and that's true throughout WDW. Open them back up, Disney!

Keep in mind, even Jambo was open for DVC - we stayed there in March. AKL is normally peaceful and quiet, but that was a new level for that stay! It was a lot of pressure on Sanaa! I agree, they'll need to open to support all the guests. Soon the question will be in what form does Boma open? The way it was, or something different. I was not impressed with what they did for the Cape May Cafe buffet 'alternative'. Hope that's not how they approach Boma. But getting it open would hopefully be a first step!
