Any rumors regarding the dining reservation window going back to 180 days?

They won't ever get away from ADR's. Without ADR's, people will be more likely to get fed up and leave. They will also spend less money even when they stay in the parks because they'll snack more since they can get that food quickly and they'll be no reason to 'save room' for the big meal later.
Also, they want that information on who will be dining where even more than they want the park reservation information.

No matter how far ahead, there is still a finite number of revisitation times available each day. It doesn't matter how far ahead you book.

The farther out you can book, the fewer people who will be trying to gobble up those times when the booking window opens. So for the person who is ready to book in advance, being allowed to do so is always an advantage.

I hope they keep 60 days for everyone and open up slightly longer windows for resort guests and then slightly longer windows on top of that for deluxe resort guests. It is a bit ridiculous to be staying in a $500-700 a night room and to have to sit at a computer hitting refresh 180 days out to get a reservation at California Grill. Definitely not my idea of a "premium experience".

I am on the opposite end of the spectrum. I do enjoy planning way ahead for my ADR’s. One less thing to worry about and stress levels decrease.

Keep in mind this is coming from a DVC member who always stays deluxe DVC. The “premium experience” is in the better location, rooms, amenities, activities, ambience and transportation options. That’s what you’re paying more for. IMO staying deluxe shouldn’t entitle you to better meal times too. Sorry you have to “slum it with the peasants” on day 180.

I like 60 days better than 180. Like others said, I don't know what I want to eat 6 months from now. Really not even 60 days from now but 6 months is just too far off. I do wish they would let resort guest have a earlier booking window for the resort that are staying at. For our upcoming trip in 58 days, I couldn't book anything at Riviera. No breakfast, lunch or dinner. It sucks that people not staying there will be eating at Topolino's and we have to go to another resort or a park for meals.

Same for me. I enjoy early planning, and checking things off as they are done. I miss being able to make ADRs 180 days out.

I may not know exactly what I want to eat 6 months out - but I generally have an idea that far out on which park we would be at, old favorites, new places we want to try, etc. So, it's not too hard to put together a plan. Snagging the ADRs early, and perhaps tweaking them later if need be felt less stressful.

I like the 180 day booking window. I found I was able to get whatever reservations I wanted at that point. 60 days was tough this time. Maybe it was because of reduced restaurant capacity and not lead time, but finding a breakfast ANYWHERE was very challenging. The dinners were tough too.
I am in agreement about people staying at the resort having the ability and some advantage to book dining there.

The issues with the 60-days is not because it is 60-days but because of the reduced capacity at restaurants and the amount of restaurants that are still closed. As they continue to increase capacity and open restaurants, that will improve.

I really, really like the 60-day window and hope it never goes back to 180 days. Even the few times I had resort reservations at 180 days, I usually never made reservations until much closer to the actual travel date, or if I did I almost always wound up changing just about every single ADR once I secured FPs (but, we know FPs are not coming back, or at least if it comes back it will be so different, I probably will not need to plan our days around FPs like I used to do). So, who knows! For me, planning the rides and the stuff we were doing needs to go before the dining reservations. I hope whatever they land on for the Genie, that the ADRs come after that.

ADR's need to come before park reservations or at the same time. Also, you should be able to modify park reservations rather than cancel and then risk not getting one

One nice thing about the ADR no-show penalty is that reservations open up the day before for the non-planners

I am disliking the 60 day window, I wouldn't even mind something like 90 or 120 even. I have a large group going this year and making dining reservations at the 60 day window is going to probably be awful. I personally really like to plan, but I wish they showed park hours, etc at that window as well. Would make it much easier to plan when you know the times parks will close and such when you make your reservations.

The one thing that I really liked about the 180 day reservations was knowing I would get everything I wanted....eventually. There really wasn't any panic or worry if I didn't book what I wanted because I knew it would eventually pop up over the course of the next 6 months. Things a a bit more concrete for people at the sixty day mark. Less people will cancel trips in that time frame, less people will change their minds about what they want to do. Which means less chance of snagging that elusive ressie I missed on booking day.
I totally agree! At 180 days, people were more likely to move things around. Cancel reservations. Switch park days. Now, at 60 days. feel like their plans are pretty concrete. I want CRT, for my next trip, and I think it's going to be difficult because I don't see many cancelling at 60 days out.

That's my concern - CRT. I'm taking my DDs for their 18th birthday celebration, CRT was always a special tradition for them. We use to go annually for their birthday - and always did BBB, followed by CRT, and a special order cake for them. So, it was one of a few they are hoping for. And I'm hoping to even surprise them with a cake.

In the past, 180 days out - no big deal. But, as we are going over Christmas - and the 60 day window, I don't see it as the slam dunk it use to be. My plan is to log in as soon as my window opens, and I'm shooting for the last night of our stay - hoping timing will work in our favor during such a busy time of year.

If you are staying on property you will almost certainly get a reservation during the later days in your stay since your window for the entire trip starts on the first day of your hotel reservation.

Unfortunately. My trip is only 4 days. We arrive on a Monday and leave on Thursday. I am hoping but not holding my breath. I am going with a friend. Celebrating my 50th and her first visit. We are calling it "no husband's allowed" trip. Her favorite, from a little girl, has been Cinderella. I would love to be able to eat in the castle. We'll see. I have a lot of time.

That sounds truly special. I am crossing my fingers for you.

We have 7 days, the 21st - 28th. So a very busy time to visit.
