Any rumors of an iPad 2 before Christmas?

My wife wants one a whole lot. I plan to get her one, but I don't want to buy it now, only to see iPad 2 come out before Christmas.. and that is what it will be... a Christmas present.

I think it needs a camera to make it worth owning.

I bought one for DH and he takes it with him everywhere. He mentioned to me when he first got it that it would be awesome if it had a camera, but once you use it for a bit the whole idea of a camera just seems odd. It's just not the right size and shape for taking pictures.

I am interested to see what Apple has in store for the iPad next and where the price points will be but I haven't heard rumors of a new one anytime this year.

I've heard rumors that a new ipad will be announced at the Apple event tomorrow but I have my doubts. I think it's too soon after the first one for them to come out with a new one, so I think they'll just announce the new ipods and the changes to iTunes instead. Assuming they don't announce a new one tomorrow, I would be shocked if they had another event to announce a new one before Christmas.

It hasn't even been out for a year. I doubt they will announce and release a new one before even a year. iPhone was released June 29, 2007. iPhone 3G released July 11, 2008, 3GS released June 8, 2009, iPhone 4 June 2010.

They give plenty of lead time between announcement and release. I would expect the announcement of iPad 2 probably next spring. You can also follow http://www.tipb.com/ for the latest rumors and news.
