Any rumors of 2006 ticket changes or packages?

FYI, the MYW plan was announced early Dec. '04 - I remember because I switched over my pkg. on Jan 2, '05.

DVC holds their annual info meetings late Nov./early Dec...at that time any proposed changes/percs/discounts (including tix, etc.) are usually announced. Since it's been indicated that some sort of Dining Option will be offered to DVC members, I'm anticipating/hoping for an announcement @ that time.

Just a guess, but the assumption is that the dining option will be tied into the purchase of MYW tix - so pricing will need to be established @ the announcement.

While these may be announced at the same time, I wouldn't look for the dining plan in any way to be attached to ticketing. I think it would be tied to the resort, or points.

The new pricing went into effect on Janaury 5th. GoldenOldie seems to be hinting that that's about the time Annual Passes annually increase in price. So if you want one, lock in the $420 now! (Or $550 for the PAP)

2006 room rates are out. Ticket prices are always subject to an increase.

Really? Interesting. I was told that my package price was the final price. Maybe because I booked so early, it is like an advance purchase. Or was CRO wrong, AGAIN? :sunny:

Your package price is final. When booking a package, you've essentially locked in current ticket prices.

Not to split hairs, but I've got my cc info in my handy WDW folder in front of me - my plan was converted over on 1/2/05.:goodvibes

Additionally, DVC points/room/resort are guaranteed not to increase for members...actually referenced in our deeds. Ergo, the points could not be tinkered with unless it was an add-on surcharge...IMO, highly unlikely. Speculation is leaning towards a DVC MYW/AP/PAP tie in of some sort. I assume they'll let the non-DVC standard resort pkg stand as is. Don't forget, DVC'ers can also stay @ Deluxe & Mod resorts on points - they'd have to have that contingency covered.

Lastly, by no means am I representing myself as an expert on when WDW raises tix prices...but I do know that I "got caught" in 2003 (shortly before June); procrastinated and had to pay more for our PHs.

My bad. They did change the DVC AP discount prices on January 2. :)

As for how they'll tie in the dining package - I don't mean specifically that the dining is tied to your points - but rather that it's tied to your resort stay. Booking a dining plan through DVC member services when you book your DVC stay - something like that.

There's really no way they can tie anything to your admission. They can tie your admission to something else (ie coding admission to resort room keys) but I don't think it works the other way.

I have never hinted at any such thing, Dan. Disney increases prices when they want to, not on a schedule.

The last several years, the increases on APs happened in January '05, March '04, Sept '02 (no ap price increase in '03), and January '01. Could they be going up in January '06? Possibly. Will they go up sometime in '06 if they don't go up in January? Probably.

You should always plan on a ticket price increase every year. If it doesn't happen, you'll be that much ahead of the game. If it does, you'll be prepared for it.

And there's nothing to say that Disney won't once again change their entire ticket structure again like they have three times over the past decade: Super and Super Duper passes gave way to All-in-One tickets which gave way to park hopper tickets that gave way to MYW tickets.

Now you're gonna make me root through your posts! I said that AP increases weren't on a schedule, and you told me AP price increases were generally in January!!! :rotfl:

Of course, I may be remembering wrong or misunderstanding...

Great....now I have to find that post. :)

Madame Leota is out with the flu, her replacement this evening is Madame keishashadow; who is gazing into her crystal ball and predicts:

All WDW park tickets will increase in price in 2006!

Going out on a limb here but, Madame also sees:

An increase in rack rates @ the resorts!

;)

Um... points/room/resort can change. Plus Disney could if they wanted charge you MORE points to add the dining plan. That would not be adding to the room rate and would give Disney points to turn into paying room guest.

Personally for all the DVC excitment over dining, I expect LOTS of disappointment. I figure it will be much more expensive then the rates for rooms since there is NOT an associated room revenue with it if you use points.

It's my understanding (as stated by my guide & legal docs that we received) that DVC "Resort" point requirements do not change...you are told the number of points required per night/season for existing resorts when you buy in to insure that you have enough points for your needs. Points for other types of accom. are subject to change.

DVC could charge more points for a dining add on...shouldn't ruffle any DVC members feathers in that regard. I still think the tie-in will be with MYW tix but, just my opinion.

Haven't heard much of an outcry from the AP/PAP patrons as to being offered this dining option (yes, I realize the DDE is an option). Should find out soon how the chips will fall...can't wait.

I have heard some outcry from APers, but only because I am one of them. Joined this March. I think the difference for APers is that they can choose not to renew, and use MYW tickets instead if they really want the Dining Plan. Definitely NOT the same. We were back in August, and would happily have paid for the dining plan if we could have without getting more tickets we didn't need.

I agree whole-heartedly...we have left over PH & MYW tix; but would certainly purchase new ones in order to untilize the dining plan in Dec. We loved the plan in Feb.; so nice to have meals "taken care of" before we arrive - one last thing to stress about IMO.

Guess I'll just have to sit tight and hope WDW announces the next best thing before my trip in Dec.LOL

just a normal package question...are the prices locked once you reserve the pack. or after you finish paying? so if a deal comes along you can get it but need to pay more to not be penalized( ie upgrade to fancy smancy resort)?

and is each room adiffernt packgage..if i need 3 rooms= 3 packages=3 deposits or $600 deposit?
thanks
