Any rumors about extending 15 month AP renewal?

We have DVC APs that expire in September. I had thought I would renew them in August via a voucher and receive the 15 month renewal. However, after careful reading of Cheshire Figment's excellent ticket sticky, I realize we will only get the 12 month renewal since we won't physically be in WDW until October.

What would you do? The DVC renewal price is $366, and buying a new AP at current rates is $414. Would you go for the later October expiration date at the higher price, or just get the renewal?

And if there is the usual August price hike, I guess that means getting an AP voucher before the price hike, since our 30 days for renewal is August 18.

I'd appreciate any input or rumors about an extension.

I was able to renew my AP on line and get the 15 months. I did this last November and picked my new AP up in March. My new expiration is now Feb. 6, 2011. I picked it up at the Downtown Guest Relations. I had to have my confirmation and my old AP to do the will call. No problem. I would try to do it on line when you are in your 30 day window. Won't hurt to try.

We are in the same boat. Our AP's expire 9/25 and I was planning on renewing them before the end of August to get the extension but it looks like it is not going to happen. We will be at WDW in a few weeks and I plan on stopping by Guest Services and asking about our options. If I find out anything new on this I will post it when we get back (8/10). Keeping my fingers crossed that there will be an extension.
