Any Royal Caribbean insiders out there...

Wishing there was a Royal Caribbean ship from Boston to Bermuda and a seven day cruise starting and ending in Honolulu. Right now, both of those cruises are dominated by Norwegian and I don't want to cruise Norwegian! Anyone know if this will change? Thanks

Not sure about Boston to Bermuda, but in case you're not aware Norwegian had to set up a separate American-Based company to do the Hawaiian itineraries. Reason begin a foreign-flagged ship cannot visit US ports without a stop at a foreign port.

By setting up an American-Based cruise company you need to pay minimum wage, just like any other company, this is one of the reasons NCL has problems with their Hawaiian products and keeping employees. The American employees want more than minimum wage.

I certainly don't see RCCL doing anything like this very soon at all.

That's very interesting. Thanks for the response. I guess I won't hold my breath waiting for RCI in Hawaii. I also never understood why cruise lines spend 4 days getting to Hawaii...now I know. Thanks!

It is really annoying! I wish the US government would change the laws so cruise ships don't have to stop at a foreign port but I guess they have more important things to worry about...

Sorry - nothing on the RCL schedule from Boston to Bermuda from now through 2015.

Current RCL to Bermuda choices are:

Grandeur from Baltimore
Explorer from Bayonne (2014)
Liberty from Bayonne (2015)
Anthem from Bayonne (2016 only if they widen the Bermuda channel)

The Liberty (a great ship) is much more modern than the Grandeur or Explorer. Anthem will be expensive when it enters service.
