DH and I will be able to have a kid free evening and originally was planning on V&A but quite honestly would rather not spend "that" much on our adult only dinner.

Gaylord Palms has the hickory steakhouse.

We are a little older and really enjoyed the singing wait staff at Bergamo's:

Reviews are very good for the most part...and the wait staff are very talented folks. If you want real high end price then this is for another fun evening, but we sure enjoyed it...and you will keep a lot of $$ in your purse compared to the top of the line places above...

A nice change of pace from the theme park/tourist places is Hue in a downtown Orlando neighborhood. Great location, nice old Florida neighborhood, and amazing food. Check out their website here: http://www.huerestaurant.com/

We also love Bergamo's. We also had a number of romantic and very tasty meals at Salt Island Chop House and Fish Market. If you are after a romantic meal, ask to be seated in the Waterfall Room.

Well I currently have a reservation there but 2nd guessing my desire to spend so much money and more so time . And well DH doesn't want to drag down a jacket. Ahh such decisions

I know you said you will be childfree but I just found out today that if you dine at the Dolphin Resort Bluezoo or Shula's Steakhouse that you get two hours of free childcare in their childcare center. They are open 5:30 pm to midnight and they feed the kids dinner. Extra hours are $10 per hour per child. There does not seem to be a limit on how many children you bring but you need advance reservations and they have to be potty trained, ages 4-12.
