Any rides scare you??

Astro Orbiter. Serioulsy, I have been going to WDW for the past 30 years and I was always scared of it, went on it once, hated it and will not go again. Its just some strange phobia. I'm glad I am not the only one, I really thought I was. I mean, it really doesn't look scary and I can ride anything else.
I didn't like Mission Space because I hated being closed up in that box. I rode the Orange and the spinning, etc. didn't bother me but being closed up did. My son and daughter loved that ride and were really disappointed I wouldn't go. They rode together, though, and had a great time all 5 or 6 times.

For me it is Tower of Terror, I hate the sensation of free falling. Last year my wife convinced me to give it a try, BIG MISTAKE. My knees knocked and my legs trembled for about 30 minutes afterwards. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! Now I am deathly terrified of TOT! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Dinosaur. Like a PP stated, I close my eyes half way through and am terrified. That carnosaur is going to get us, I just know it!:scared1:

It isn't there anymore, but Alien Encounter scared the ever-loving crap out of me. When that thing was breathing on my neck...if I could've gotten out of there and run for an exit...or a wall...yikes. Would NEVER do that again.

I have no fear of rollercoasters or dark rides, but I hate the feeling of free falling. DD5 wants to try tower of terror next year and I don't want to discourage her cause she is such a scaredy kid, and I'm proud of her.... but I don't even know if I want to go with her, lol!

Any rides YOU as the parent/adult won't go on?

Yep -- Mission Space. I'm claustrophobic and get freaked out at the shoulder bar coming down in Stitch so I couldn't imagine riding Mission Space.

Tower of Terror scares me but I've been on that twice -- still I think Dh will be the one taking DS if/when he wants to ride that lol!

Summit Plummet (does that count? lol) -- the closest I've been to riding it was three people away before I lost my nerve. That was the first time I actually got all the way up the stairs

I won't ride Dinosaur again - I wouldn't have ridden it the first time, but I got it confused with the Energy pavilion ride I'd been on at Epcot as a kid. I'm Pooh shaped, but extra fluff on the hips. My seatbelt was hooked but I hadn't figured out how to get my hips into the seat just yet... when the ride took off! So I did it mostly standing trying not to step on or bump into my neighbors.

I had the same problem with Soarin' - I finally got my hips adjusted halfway through so I didn't see much of the first part. Silly hips.

Astro Orbiter and Splash are two of my favs.

I'm probably going to make myself go on all the scarier rides (except Dinosaur, of course) this year. I'm working my way up slowly though! I've never done TT, ToT, RnRC, EE, or BTMRR. Also need to do Mission: SPACE on the orange side. That & TT will be next. The hardest might be Space Mountain, though. I rode it when I was 7 and my mom thought I was going to have a heart attack. I'm very, very afraid of the dark. I scream louder during the dark part of Splash than the big drop!

Astro Orbitor.

DH & I rode it together a few years ago and I was terrorfied, normally heights doesn't bother me its more that feeling like you are going to be thrown from the rocket and fall to a horrible death thing that got me. We don't even give our kids the option to ride it b/c neither of us will ride with them.

Been to WDW a number of times, first time I ever rode this was this past November, always wanted to but just never got around to it...NEVER AGAIN. I think those might be the original 1971 rockets and seat belts, I thought for sure I was going to fly out...definitely felt safer on Space Mountain.

It's s Small World. I had a nightmare 2 weeks before our second summer trip this year, and I have been scared of the Poly room ever since. :O Also Dinosaur. I just happen to have a fear of animatronic dinosaurs from when I was younger so.... lol yeah.

Dinosaur scares the "poop" out of me. I said some very "R"-rated words the last time I rode it.

Tea Cups- spinning in circles makes me sick.:scared1:

I also will not see It's Tough to be a Bug...

That's the one DD4 is scared of! In fact I blame it for ruining our 2008 trip! It was the very first thing we did in the very first park we went to. DH had seen it (I never had) and said it was fine. She FREAKED OUT (think :scared1:) and we had to leave, then for the rest of the trip whenever a room or ride would get dark she would freak lol. This year we made sure to avoid it, chances are I won't get to see it till she's like 13. :rotfl:

I've been ok on everything we have tried, but we have not done Dino or TOT. I was thinking of doing Dino on or next trip, but after reading some of your post I'm not to sure. I can not take things poping out at me or scarry things( I'm a big baby I know) I can't even ride on those chessy haunded house rides at hte carnavals.

Dinosaur did not scare me but made me a freaking NERVOUS wreck! All of that jerking and it was so darn LOUD! Ughhhh, I felt like I needed a stiff drink after that one! I seriously was jittery for about 20 minutes afterwards.:scared1: Add me to the list for Astro Orbitor... I feel like I'm going to fly out of that thing! I rode it in Sept. this year for the first time since I was 9 and I'm 35 now..... I never remembered it feeling like I was going to go flying into the Contemporary!:scared1: Of course that was a very long time ago too!:lmao:

DINOSAUR! :scared1: The first time I went on it I screamed so much that a little boy (maybe around 8 or so) asked ME if I was okay! I am so afraid of it, yet my DBf still talks me into going on it every trip! I now hide in his lap while holding my ears and closing my eyes and I'm still petrified!

Hands down; Dinosaur still scares the living daylights out of me - I have ridden it probably eight times and I still get scared.

I used to have a fear of Summit Plummit, the only attraction I had not done. But last trip I was determined to do it. My son had done it numerous times, but my wife would have no part of it. I found it to be not nearly as bad as I had anticipated and is really a lot of fun. Just have to remember to keep your legs crossed!!

Tower of Terror-which I will never, ever ride.

Dinosaur-I feel like a big baby, and I know I'll be scared, but I keep getting back on.

Splash Mountain.-it's the drop. I'm really afraid I'll have a stroke on it.

Mission Space - spinning side. Did it once, never again. I'm not a lightweight, I have done EE, ToT & RnR multiple times at once.

I love just about all the attractions at WDW- I have never been scared of thrill rides. For me, the louder, faster, higher, and scarier, the better. ToT is awesome- I wish they had even more drops.

However, there is one ride that still makes me uneasy- Haunted Mansion. I was 7 the first time I went on it, and HATED every second of it!! I was super scared of monsters, ghosts, and things-that-jump-out-at-you stuff back then. My mean big brother, who knew how scared I was, tricked me onto HM by telling me it was more like IASW than a haunted house. To this day, I get creeped out in the graveyard scene, and avoid looking at the Hitchhiking Ghosts. I don't avoid the ride, but I don't like certain parts at all.
