Any reviews on the Catamaran Resort in San Diego?

Hi,
Anyone have any feedback on this hotel in San Diego? Any particular building/view to ask for? is it in a good location? Any restaurants close by?

We ( Daughter, GD then 7, and myself) stayed at the Catamarran in June 2005 and loved it. Pacific Ocean out the front door and Mission Bay out the back door - the resort has lush foliage, birds, waterfall and a swimming pool. We really enjoyed the bay side as the water was warmer and calmer. They had chairs and umbrellas to rent along with tons of water toys - pedal boats to motor boats to sail boats. Great restaurant there that serves you on the beach or on the patio or inside - a little pricey but also lots of little restaurants and chains within walking distance. There is a tower if you want a great view or motel type rooms two or three story- some have kitchens in them. We liked it and recommended it to some high school seniors that went in April and they loved it also.

I second that. My mother, DD7 and myself stayed there last spring break. We were in the tower with a north view - which is Pacific Beach, the pier and on towards La Jolla. Beautiful at night. Our unit also had a kitchen.

We loved it.

Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and at night, if its not windy, you can go down to the on site restaurant and watch the fireworks from Sea World over the bay. Two nights we even ordered dinner out on the patio and ate while enjoying the show.
