Any reviews on Dollar or Thrifty?

I have never used Dollar or Thrifty in Florida. Any experience with them? They often seem to be cheaper but I'm wondering if the cars and service from them are good? Also, how far away from the airport are they?
Thanks!

I use Dollar on every trip. They are right on site at MCO and no complaints at all.

I share the same experience in regard to Dollar. At MCO I've had nice cars the last several times I've rented from them. If you haven't yet signed up for Dollar Express I would, allows you to directly go to parking garage for car.

We used Dollar last summer and everything was great. I signed up for Dollar Express (you want to do that a bit before the trip because it does take a little time) and went right to the garage after getting our bags. We got to select any car from our category (and the lady in the booth actually whispered if we didn't like anything in our group to select one from the next level up but we were happy with our selection). The car was great, the return was simple and I was very happy with our experience (I had been nervous because it was my first time ever renting a car).

I've used Dollar several times at MCO and haven't had any problems. We plan to use them again in about a week because of the great rate I got today. 235 for a minivan for 11 days.

I highly recommend signing up for the Dollar Express. That way you can skip the long inside counter line.

So with Dollar Express what exactly is the process then if you have it? I'm a bit confused. Also, does the program cost anything?

No cost, you just enter some personal information so they have it on file. When you arrive you go right to the garage and look for your name on the sign board telling you where to locate your car. You head for the exit where you show your license, do a quick review of the paperwork and you are on your way. When I looked at the board it said see attendant next to my name and I was nervous at first but all she did was hand me my packet and tell me to select any car from my category, then whispered if I didn't see anything I liked I could select from the next category. We were fine with what we had initially reserved so we loaded up and were headed on our way I would say within 5 minutes.

That sounds great. So, there will be signs pointing us to the garage and an attendant will be in her little booth area if we need any help? Also, do we get in the car and THEN drive to the exit or do we have to walk in and see someone in person? Sorry for all the questions but I haven' done this before!

I use Thrifty for almost all my vacations. Nice cars and cheap prices. The line can be a little slow.

Yes, we followed the signs to the garage and there was an employee in the booth. Get in the car and head to the exit. There are employees manning the exit lanes to check credentials and go over any necessary paperwork then you are on your way. I was really nervous since it was my first time renting a car but it was very simple and only took a few minutes.

We're Dollar regulars and Dollar Express members, never a complaint. We've already reserved a Compact car for this Oct., 10 days for $196 total.

Thanks! I am reserving for the fall as well and seem to have found a good deal as well. :)

We had a great experience with Dollar in May. Low price, great value, fast and easy pick up. We would use them again in a heartbeat.
