We are booked at the WL in July '04 in a standard room. We are really thinking about upgrading to a deluxe (depending on how much $$ we save). Reason behind the upgrade is because we are taking my DD and a friend of hers (both 9). Just thought it would be a little more privacy for us all if we have the separate bedroom. Has anyone stayed in a deluxe that can give me their review of the room?

I haven't stayed in this room type.

I've been told that deluxes are almost never discounted. Rack for value (after 7/4/04) is $390/night. Rack for a standard is $199/night. I'd have to think that there is a very good chance that Disney will offer a discount on the regular rooms. If you can get the standard at even 20% off ($159/night), booking 2 regular rooms would be cheaper than the deluxe. 2 = $318/night. You'd then have 2 full bathrooms, too.

Just some food for thought!

One of my husband's sisters stayed in one with her family. We advised them to get two rooms instead. For what they paid, they could have gotten two rooms at the WL or even the Polynesian, etc. with an AP rate or code.

They enjoyed their stay very much but wish they had taken our advice. They found the room to be too small for their family. However, they have four young children. If you will be a party of just four total perhaps you'll be comfortable. Have you looked at the floor plan on the disney site. There is a sleeper couch in the living room and two beds (doubles or queens??) in the bedroom.

Personally, I'd go for two rooms!:D

We really loved our Deluxe room. There were just 3 adults so it was plenty of room and having 2 adults and 2 kids would be fine. While getting two regular rooms will get you more room and two bathrooms I would still do a Deluxe as it is a wonderful little suite. It is not ust a longer room with a wall dividing the living area from the bed area. These rooms are located on the ends of the building and the two rooms have many many windows making for a very different feel. There are two balconies (one of which is standing room only), a wet bar with a fridge and you can enetr the vanity area from the entry hall or bedroom.
Here is the layout.

We stayed in a deluxe room at WL last summer. We are a family of 6 (4 kids). Our room had an incredible view, and I liked being at the end of the wing. I felt like the room was plenty big, as we didn't spend much time there. The only downside was my husband and I took the pull out sofa so that the kids could all be in one room. The sofa was not very comfortable, but not a stopper. We paid rack rate, but asked at check-in and were upgraded to concierge access for $35/night.

We are going to WL again this Dec and have booked 2 courtyard view rooms. No deluxe rooms were available.
